After a week on the beach we came to Lehigh Acres. The hotel in front is being torn down and it worried me, but on arrival at the resort to the resort, which is on a road behind the old hotel, we were pleased with our room. It has been remodeled recently, I understand, and obviously done by a designer. The resort itself, the pool area with plenty of chaise lounges, umbrella tables, gazebo with coffee daily, shaded grassy areas is very inviting.
It's not in the class of a Marriott, however, the people are friendly, the recreation staff fills the day with activities from water aerobics to ice cream specials, games, for adults and for children. This definitely is a place of retirees who want a laid-back vacation or families with young children where parents would like to relax and have activities for their children.
The golf on the resort is 9 holes and the tees and fairways are well maintained. It is a pleasant though not challenging course. There are other courses in the area for more golf.
It was reported that the hotel in front, which is in disrepair, is being replaced by an upscale shopping center.
