This is a good 4 star hotel for people who are going on cruises or wanting to be close to downtown Miami. It's about 10 min by taxi to South beach which was not that bad for us.

If you like to sit by the pool all day DON'T stay here- the pool gets pretty well no sun in the afternoon due to a condo that is directly beside it.

The service was great at the hotel and the rooms were comfortable and clean. There were a few issues with getting internet service in the rooms but guest services was quick to deal with all problems. I would stay here again.

We needed a pre-cruise hotel for one night and won the Intercontinental on priceline at $99.00 plus taxes. I thought it was a great bargain and value for what we paid. The hotel is very well located, as we were able to walk to Bayside Mall and hop on the monorail, which has a stop across the street from the hotel to downtown.

From the moment we arrived I was impressed at the hotel, with a large well decorated lobby and clean elevators and public spaces. The room was also well decorated and clean with a very comfortable king sized bed and a view of downtown and part of the port.

I was very pleased at the bathroom which was spotless, with a separate marble shower, tub and vanity area, complete with makeup mirror and bathroom scale. The complimentary toiletries, including a shoe horn, was a nice touch.

The safe is big enough to hold a laptop, the coffee in room is free but there is no breakfast included in the rate and anything from the mini bar is at a fee!

Overall we had an excellent stay and were even allowed a late check out at no extra charge.

Really glad we stayed here. The room was clean with never ending hot water. The bed was very comfortable with great linens. The gym was well supplied with equipement, and was open 24 hrs. We ate at the restaurant our 1st night there and the food was tastey and reasonably priced. The conceiges gave accurate advise. The Enterprise car rental was close by and we left the car in the hotel lot, and they picked it up, nice service. The pool area was nice and clean. We would definetly stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I have shared a Deluxe Room for 8 nights in April, 2008 while we were in Miami for the Sony Ericsson tennis tournament.

We are used to stay at Mandarin Oriental, but since the lowest room rate there was $794, we decided to try a new hotel. InterContinental was our choice.

UPs:
The room (2921) was large and comfortable. The separate bath and shower was a plus. There were plenty of closet space and I promptly got the 10 extra hangers I asked for. I missed a breakfast table with chairs, but the the business desk was very useful.

The room was located at Intercontinental Club Level, which had many free amenities, like substantial continental breakfast, afternoon tea, happy hour and soft drinks throughout the day. Señor Aristides, the Club waiter, was very helpful and attentive.

DOWNs:
Conferences and corporate events were held there all the time, what made valet service really slow some times and gave the hotel a business atmosphere.

The restaurants are not particularly attractive. The Indigo (Lobby Level) had insufficient staff and the hamburger we had at the Blue Water Cafe (pool level) was almost unbearable.

The check out process took us about 40 minutes, since a double parking fee and many items from the refreshment center were wrongly added to our bill. By the way, be aware of hidden costs like daily parking fee ($34), internet access ($55 a week), breakfast buffet ($ 26) and late checkout fee ($100 till 6 pm).

Conclusion:
On the whole, our stay was something disappointing, since we were expecting a warmer service. The impersonality of a large hotel could be felt everywhere.
