Despite bad reviews I read elsewhere, my husband and I went here last night. We should have listened. Service was prompt, band was great (too loud to speak over though) but the food? Completely awful, one of the worst 10 meals of our lives. It was such a shame. I ordered the fried balls with ground beef in the center, the center was still frozen, which told me they microwaved them. I politley asked if they were supposed to be cold, the waiter took them back. The next set came out, same problem, cold in the center. I gave up. I got the breaded steak for entree - awful and uninspired - a slab of extra thin beef deep friend on a barren white plate. It was hard to look at. Beans and plantains on seperate plate were completely cold. And it wasn't crowded, so why the cold food? Gloria Estefan should definately get out of this biz, it was just sooo awful.....My husband ordered a seafood combo which was a little more interesting, looks wise, but the seafood was tough and rubbery, like it had been cooked a week ago. We were both so shocked. The flan was tolerable, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Also, I thought it might be an upscale atmosphere, but the restaurant itself is a total dive. Very disappointing.

“Great Mojitos”

We enjoyed our lunch of Cuban food and great Mojitos. This is a good spot to people watch in South Beach.

We recently went to Lario's for an early dinner with our 2 kids, a 1 yr old & 2 1/2 yr old girl. This is always a risk to bring them to a restaurant, especially after a long drive down to Miami from Tampa. The food was excellent, and the wait staff was AWESOME! They realized that little ones have a short window in which to sit, so they bought bread immediately to keep them busy. Our appetizer & meals were served right after the other, and we had a delicious meal quickly & were out of there before they started to get restless.

We love the food here, always have. But we really appreciated the great, attentive service staff they have here this time. Will definitely return!

“FOOD POISONING!!!”

Lario's will forever live in my memory as the restaurant that provided the second food poisoning experience of my life. While returning from Brazil (where I ate and drank for 7 days without incident) my group was waylaid in Miami due to inclement weather and randomly decided to grab a bite to eat Lario's. I had about four bites of the chicken in my "arroz con pollo" and within about 1/2 hour knew I was in for a long, and very unpleasant night. Had I eaten the entire portion of chicken, there is a good chance I would have spend a few days in the hospital enjoying liquid refreshments through a tube.
As it stands, I only lost a night of sleep to the primordial purging urges of my body, and about three days of malaise, stomach pain, dizziness and fatigue.
Had I know Gloria Estefan owned this dump I would have chosen another restaurant immediately. She has just given me another reason to dislike her.
Avoid Lario's at all costs! This is not the South Beach diet plan you want to try.
