My husband and I stayed two nights in this hotel at the end of 3 weeks in Florida. We had stayed in 4 different hotels during our last week, all on points as my husband is a Platinum member. Each hotel we got upgraded and each hotel improved. The Z Ocean Hotel did not disappoint and we were thrilled to be upgraded to a Penthouse suite with rooftop jacuzzi. The room was stunning! Well appointed with 2 flat screen TV's, internet enabled, complimentary wi-fi, Aveda luxury toiletries, large bathroom with 'his 'n hers' basins, shower with rain and body sprays. The luxury kitchenette was well stocked with crockery, etc, 2 refrigerators - 1 stocked (for purchase) and the other empty for personal use. An 'Espresso' coffee machine with 3 different coffee varieties were provided with compliments. The bell-boy was very helpful and friendly. Staff were great, very helpful. Beach was lovely and only a short walk across Ocean Drive. Two sunbeds, covers and towels are provided per room; great! We didn't use room service, but we did make use of the jacuzzi. Ask at the front desk about 30 mins before you want it and someone will sort it for you without disturbing you. It was HOT, but so relaxing! We ate dinner at the Front Porch cafe the 2nd night, this was probably the only disappointment, food so so and quite pricey. Not too difficult to find the hotel, I had looked on Google Earth before so I knew what to look for. It was a bit overwhelming for us when we arrived, having driven up from Key West, very busy then not a lot of space to get into parking area, unload, etc. The only thing we had to pay for was the parking charge of $32/night. Not sure if Miami is for us, but would definitely stay at this hotel again. The room was quiet, except for some very noisy neighbours, carrying on a conversation and laughing in the early hours! The hotel was well laid out, our suite overlooked the pool out towards the sea. Didn't use the pool although it looked great! Rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable and overall well presented.
Ask for a room away from Collins Ave for a better view and peace and quiet.
