I've vacationed at the I-Drive location several times over the years and find it to always be a GREAT stay! Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good central location and a pretty good breakfast to start the day. Don't have champagne taste on beer money... It's not an overly expensive place to stay.

Given the mixed reviews, we arrived with some trepidation - which was not removed by the cramped lobby area, kids playing on arcade machines and a guy drinking beer from a bottle while leaning on the registration counter. Our "penthouse" suite looked old and tired, and the fridge made more noise than a small power plant.

But in Camp Grenada style, things looked better in the morning. Breakfast, while not extravagant, was fine - we ate around the pool rather than the small indoor area and the staff were ultra friendly. The whole ambience would have been nicely relaxed...if not for the 24/7 work to upgrade the hotel which meant that the property was swarming with hollering workpeople and their noisy vehicles.

It would have been good to have been advised ahead of arrival to expect disruption -or maybe even be offered a discount (dream on). The fact that the road connecting the property to I-Drive was being dug up added to the feeling of being accommodated on a construction site rather than in a hotel, but our comments to this effect were rather shrugged off.

But the evening 90 minute Happy Hour, with beer on tap, wine and some nice snacks was very pleasant, and I judge that when the extensive refurbishment is complete (and the designs do look nice), this will be a good place to stay. I'm sure we'll be back.

I brought my family of eight to stay in Orlando for 6 nights. When we arrived the staff was overly friendly and excited about our stay. They were extremely helpful to us and answered all our questions. We stayed in the penthouse that slept 8. We had plenty of room for all of us. The rooms were very clean and very well-kept. It is not old looking at all. I was very impressed! Breakfast was wonderful and the staff was friendly, even early in the morning. Some say they breakfast area was small, but we never had problems getting a seat. There area by the pool was nice to eat our breakfast. This hotel was close to everything. It is a short walk to McDonalds and other restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You go on vacation to have fun and that is what we did!! If you don't like this hotel your crazy!!

Not up to Marriott quality in my opinion. This is most likely one of the oldest Residence Inns in the country and is in dire need of a total remodeling inside and out. The studio suite I stayed in had frayed carpets and worn furniture, lamp shades were yellowing from age as was the light fixture panel in the kitchen. I didn't like that the entrance opened directly to the parking lot which didn't make me feel secure.
I've stayed in other Residence Inns that had interior hallways and those are much better for security and also shelter from the weather.
Breakfast at Residence Inn International Drive was rather drab and not very good. I've had better at other Residence Inns. Location is another problem with this hotel. It is a rather long walk to International Drive where all the restaurants, lounges and activities are located.
You have to walk to International Drive to get on the trolley that runs up & down the street. The hotel does not have a shuttle to the convention center either. Several of us were told we could walk across the street and ride the Wyndham's bus but their bus driver wouldn't let us on so we were late for the first sessions besides having to pay for an expensive cab ride. My company has a corporate rate with this hotel but in the future I will ask my travel coordinator not to book me in the Residence Inn International Drive.
