An excellent resort. We had a great stay there. The apartment we rented was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Service was also very good and all the resort facilities we visited were very good. Some comments that may help other travelers:

If you are planning to go to Disney, the location of this resort is very convenient. Bear in mind that the place is HUGE, so if you are thinking of letting your kids run around freely within the resort think again. It is easy to get lost even for an adult.

Make sure you let the front desk know your preferences regarding timing of room service. We came back for a nap on the first day and found our room undone, and had to interrupt our rest to get the service. After we let the front desk know our preference we had no problem.

Bear in mind that internet services are expensive: US$12 per hour. There are a couple of wifi areas within the resort so if you need to access the internet make sure you bring your laptop!

We loved the Sheraton Vistana!

My family of four, which included two teens, had a wonderful 5 day stay at this resort. The front desk staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in 2 hours early. They also accommodated my request for a villa in the Cascades or Lakes building as I had read they were newer. We stayed in a 2 bdrm. villa in the Lakes. It was clean and VERY spacious! With 3 TV's my teens never had to argue over the remote. The villa was more than I had expected, especially since we received a "too good to be true" offer in the mail as a Starwood prefered guest. The offer (including $100 cash) was everything it said it would be. There was no pressure to attend a presentation and we never received a phone call asking us to attend anything. There were planned activities schedule throughout the day-many of which required a fee, ie. tennis lessons, yoga, scuba diving lessons... We did not partake in any of those but did go to the Fountains pool frequently where we could always join in a game of water volleyball, play a game of shuffleboard, or shoot baskets. We did not eat at the resort, but there are many restaurants nearby and a Wal Mart Supercenter less than 2 miles away.

Great Resort
My husband and I stayed at the Vistana at Lake Buena Vista on July 16 thru 21. I booked on the internet for $149.00 to stay in a one bedroom and a few days later I saw the same room for $100.00 (non-smoking) so I changed it. Being I stayed in this resort twice and always had a great room I did not have to check to see if it was recommended. We arrived on Monday evening late after our flight was delayed because of a power outage in Orlando. We got to the reservation desk and the computer was down because of the problem - no backup system and had security going to the rooms to open them for new people arriving. After stuck for over an hour after getting to the reservations who was a trainee he was forced to do it manually. Finally when we were about to leave the computer came back up and we got our keys. It was after 11:00 at that point. Our room was clean but real old, musty and full of smoke. Air-conditioner was not working in the bedroom and windows did not open - this was unlike the Vistana so I tried calling the front desk and the operator but could not get anyone live. We had no choice but to deal with this in the morning even though I am highly allergic to smoke and mold. Next morning I called and spoke to a guy named Joe who was the day manager. Extremely nice and caring - he allowed me to tell my entire story and actually listened. He said that the property was sold out but would try and find me another room somewhere. Also I am not used to people calling back right away but he did and felt so bad that we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom 2 bath Jacucci in the bedroom and a screened in porch overlooking a lake. We hit jackpot. What a beautiful room. I am very impressed with this manager who really took the time and helped us. The pool was beautiful and the rest of the property was maintained. I would stay again at the Vistana but wouldl be careful of the room I choose.

The best section is Cascades because it is the newest and whichever room you get would be really nice. The next best is where we stayed in the Lakes area only for the two bedrooms.
Do not book with anyone but the Vistana directly which is the Starwood Properties because than they will not help you and blame it on whomever booked you.

Me and my family of four stayed in a one bedroom premium in the cascades.Everything was great about this place,even the older buildings were still cute.Don't listen to the bad reviews!A tip would be to shop at Walmart for floaties food ect...The store on sight is pretty pricey and one more thing yes they do call early in the morning for the timeshare so do unplug you phone!Hoped this review helps.Can't wait to go back!!!!!!
