My husband 7 year old daughter and I stayed at the Pop Century in a "preferred room" for 3 days in March. This was our 3 trip to the Orlando area, but first experience in a "disney property" We were excited about the magical express, however it did not quite work out for us. Our tags and package did not arrive before we left so I called the resort 3 days before we left and was told to go to guest services at Orlando airport, which we did. I was not told the luggage would not arrive for over 5 hours after we checked into the hotel. If I had been told this would have picked up our own luggage and brought it to the hotel. Instead we arrived from Chicago in sweaters around 8:00 at night, with no PJ's or swim suits or anything, until around 2:00 am. We were quite arrgravated. The people in charge of luggage at Pop Century initially said they could not locate our luggage, at all. Finally after making calls to Southwest, they eventually located it.

The food court was horrible, crowded and the food was disgusting, and I am not picky. The pricing was outrageous. Between waiting in line for food, and waiting in line for the busses, both to and from the parks, I felt like we were all sheep, you really are captive, unless you have a rental car.

The buildings remind me of military barracks, and I was in the military, so this is not an exageration. I could hear people using the bathroom, flushing, coughing next door. The beds were very small and very uncomfortable. The rooms are less than basic and not up to the standards of even a Holiday Inn.

The pools and walking paths are nice. But for the price we paid for this one room we were able to have a 4 bedroom townhouse at another resort. Would much prefer to stay in a townhouse/condo off the Disney Property, the time that you save in getting too and from the park was not worth it to us.

I did not expect a luxury hotel room, I knew this was a value resort. There are so many non-disney properties which are a better value.

“Nice place to stay”

I always check the tripadvisor before i book any trip.. And tripadvisor never fails me.. I got this hotel for $98 from AAA website.. Stayed there for 3 days..

+ves -

Extra Hours
Nice & Clean
Value for Money - I was not able to find any other place which had good reviewsto stay in <100 range.. Some comfort inn was available for 70 dollars and had good reviews. But consider the extra $10 you pay for parking and the extra hours you miss.. During the extra hours I could basically take some rides twice bcos there was no crowad at all..

I am not sure about the shuttle.. I think it was crowded.. I always took my car out as I had an infant with me and parking was free..

-ves

Disney --- for food.. both theme parks and resort..
A hotdog took 30 mins in line in the theme parks...
No Microwave/Refrigerator in rooms
Refrigerator is available for $10 extra.. But basically i bought a small cooler from walgreens for $2 and Ice is available in all floors..
I would also take a electric toaster and a heater with me next time....

About sounds from neighbours I stayed in 80's building and I heard none..

Hey overall it was very good and I stayed in a disney resort only for the extra hours and this place was well worth the money I spent.. Pls. check the extra hours calendar if your dates are flexible..

Also AAA has a diamond parking coupon which gives you gr8 parking space in Magic kingdom and it is free if you book hotel through them..

We stayed here July 1st - July 15th and I could not, im sure, have found a worse hotel to stay in. The crowds were huge, it took me 2hours to get breakfast, buy breakfast then find a table to have breakfast. Many guests were rude especially in the food court they pushed, and pulled there way through.

The parks were great but I was upset waiting the one hour to catch an overcrowded bus for the 20mins it took us to get back to the small cramped rooms. I don't think ours or next door even had air conditioning just rubbish desk fans from reception, is that standard in Value? Well my advice go to the wonderful Carribean Beach or Coronado Springs they are simple fantastic and a lot better than "POP". Never Again.

“Great Place to Stay, even for a family of 6”

Disney's Pop Century Resort

I would like to first start of by saying that staying on Disney's property at Pop Century was not originally on our agenda. My husband felt that if we stayed in a hotel off the property we would have saved lots of money. I am here to tell you that we are so glad that we gave Pop Century a chance. Let me tell you that the convience of staying on Disney's property really pays for itself.

We have 3 boys that are 7 years old and a 10 year old girl. They loved this hotel so much that they didn't want to leave. The staff was excellent! Magic Express was great. Not having to deal with your luggage really makes you feel like you are on vacation. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus to arrive.

I recommend anyone with kids to add the Dining Plan to their reservations. The dining plan saved us about 500.00. I am not kidding we saved our receipts so that we can add it up when we returned home.
