As a local Orlando resident I look to visit new eateries as often as possible. This is a restaurant that I pass by each day to work - but have never been. Tonight my wife and I met and enjoyed the experience.
Fish on Fire is, as I can best describe, a seafood focused restaurant that you will find in southern communities like Jacksonville, Savannah, Tallahassee and others. Casual style with an open concept (picnic style tables both inside and out). Most of the food is seafood based (Grouper, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Catfish) with some burgers, salads and flatbreads. Sides are typical southern with coleslaw, fries, collard greens and more. Many of the entrees are fried or sauteed, but they do have grilled options.
Our experience was a good one. We arrived on a Wednesday and ate outside. Fast and kind server gave us some options and delivered our food within 10 minutes. My blackened grouper was nice and my wife's Key West style Mahi Mahi was good. We both had the house brewed beer, which was good.
If you are staying near the Orlando International Airport, there are more and more dining options each day. I think that Fish on Fire is worth a visit.
