“Nice Beaches and only $5”

St Andrews is a two-part state park. Part of it is accessible by car, has a couple of nature walks and some very nice beaches. The entrance fee is $5. They have beach chair rentals, a small concession shop and another store where you can buy some groceries. The first week of May when we visited was not crowded so there was plenty of room on the beach for us. Some folks were catching flounder near the breakwater at the inlet.
Across the inlet is the other part of the park...Shell Island (although we didn't find many shells). It was cut off by a hurricane some time ago and is only accessible by boat. You can take your own boat or boat service is available at the park (every hour), from the Marriott hotel (if you are staying there), or on the Ashley Gorman from the Hathaway Bridge on US 98 like we did for $21 per person. It was a very nice 3.5 hour tour with 1 hour on the beach at Shell Island, a half hour of porpoise viewing and it included a sandwich, a bag of chips and a Pepsi.
We enjoyed visits to both parts of the park.

“A Fun Day at the Park”

My husband and I decided on our last day of a three day weekend getaway (to Grayton Beach State Park in Santa Rosa, and Sunset Inn at PCB) to make the most of our time and spend another day kayaking. St. Andrews was our spot of choice and it was just perfect. We took a tour of the park before heading to the boat ramp and decided we would definitely like to come back for a camping trip here. There are so many spots and great amenities - you just couldn't help but want to!

We kayaked out onto Grand Lagoon and then over to Shell Island. The shuttle wasn't running that day, so we had the beach all to ourselves and found loads of shells and sanddollars. Jackpot! It was a nice trip and was finished off with a grand adventure through The Pass out onto the Gulf. We've never taken our kayaks out onto the ocean but the Pass was a perfect way to avoid breaking waves.

We came out behind the jetties on the east side of St. Andrew's and then mosied on over to Gator Lake where we didn't see any gators but then on our way out, in the lake across the street from Gator Lake, we spotted not only one but TWO gators which we'd been looking for our whole time in Florida!

Overall - worth the $5 entry fee and definitely a place we'd come back to!

“Beautiful”

St. Andrews State Park

I have been to PCB several times but this time we decided to go to St Andrews. I was so glad we did. We spent over half the day just walking around. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I loved going out on the Piers, and climbing on the rocks. It was the perfect place to take beautiful pictures. Like an early review said, it was postcard perfect. I seen my very first jellyfish (it was dead, washed up on shore) But I still thought it was cool!! We even seen a deer as we were leaving. I am so glad we decided to go and when we return to PCB in Sept I will be going again. This time we plan on packing a lunch and spending most of the day there.

“Worth a visit!”

I've been to PCB twice now and St. Andrews State Park has been on the must see list both times. It's a great value for $5 entry fee! Beautiful beaches-even during a cold snap when we had to wear coats and gloves, the beach was gorgeous! White, white sand, dunes, blue water! Between the Gulf side beach and the Lagoon side beach, there is a beach for everyone, even families with little ones.

We have also done the two nature walks which were both very nice and family friendly.

My name is michael ray and I love this place. I go there about ten (10) times a very for most holidays. I am 15 years old and I love to fish thats why me and my family go so often. I am hopeing that when I turn 18 I can move out and get a job with the coast guard or at least one of the local deep sea fishing boats "ocean queen, gemini queen, florida queen, or the jubilee". I plan to go to colledge in Panama City and grow up there from when i move there until i die....i love this place so much! If i'm lucky i can get a camp ground hoast area so i can live in the park.
