Joe Patti's is a thrill from the vintage Neon sign out front to the tiny eatery tucked away behind the expansive Seafood Market. Then there's the deli... Oh, and the bakery... and the souvenir shop. It is one of the most delightful stops we've made on our trip to Pensacola.
Joe Patti's has been serving Pensacola since 1931. The variety of seafood available at the market is mind boggling. Everything from Scottish Salmon to Maine Lobsters to local Crawfish and Red Fish. We bought the Red Fish and some spicy cooked Crawfish and both were delish! You don't get Seafood any fresher than this. AND pick out some seafood and they'll steam it for you right there!
We also picked up a loaf of Louisiana style french bread. It's got a crispy crust and a soft tasty middle... perfect to pile high with goodies to make your own Po' Boy Sandwich... and the fixins are all there at Joe's; right in the deli!
You can finish off your meal with a yummy confection from the bakery. There are sweet breads and a cake called Florida Sunshine Cake.... Looked amazing. Today, we're going back so I can try that cake... Can't get it outa my mind.
Do try Joe's... Oh, and don't miss the little beignet wagon just outside the front door. While not the Cafe Du Monde's beignets, they are delicious little puffs filled with either Raspberry or Bavarian Cream deep fried and dusted in powdered suger. The cost is only $5.00 for 6!
Joe's is an experience you don't want to miss whether you want to eat, shop or both. It's one of the best Pensacola has to offer.
