This is a three star resort with four star food. And it is designed for families. If you want an adult all inclusive go to Sandals or some other Club Med. However, if you have kids of any age it is very nice. We had two teenage girls who had their own room and were on their own schedule. They ate when the wanted, and slept till noon. They loved it. They could water ski, sail, sit by the pool or whatever they wished to do. They have programs and activities for kids of all ages. And for my wife and I it was relaxing and the food was wonderful. It was better food than our Sandals experiences. However there really aren't the adult activities we have enjoyed elsewhere such as scuba diving or para sailing. And the water skiing is really just for the kids. The sail boat is very basic and you can only sail in a small area near the hotel -- but again it is family oriented. Finally, the rooms were quite nice. Yes they are a bit old, but very large and clean.

Again, if you are going for an action packed adult vacation to an exotic location -- you will be disappointed. If you are taking children for an adventure at their level, it will be a wonderful experience.

Our family has frequented Club Med but Sandpiper didn't live up to the normally high standard of Club Med. At every other resort the staff is incredible but at Sandpiper nobody seemed to care about customer service and noone wanted to help with any issues we faced. The Chef de Village was hard to find and couldn't communicate effectively when we were trying to convey our concerns. We would not go back to Sandpiper because of this experince

Our family chose this resort due to the fact that it is family oriented. Upon arrival we were able to check in to our rooms prior to the "official" check in time (this is a big plus when traveling with a two year old). We found the rooms to be spacious and clean.

There were more than enough activities to keep busy. The resort has basketball courts, a golf course, tennis courts, archery range, a kiddie pool, a lap pool, a large family pool, an adult only pool, playgrounds, water skiing, wakeboarding and an unbelievable kids program.

Our two year old had a blast playing with the other kids in the program, and was actually upset that the program is closed on Wednesdays for "Family Day". In addition to swimming, arts & crafts, and numerous outdoor toys the program offers pirate shows, a treasure hunt, and a play put on by the children.

It should be noted that at if you want to enjoy the watersports you should make reservations prior because the lines can get lengthy, especially on Family Day.

The resort had some of the better food choices for an all inclusive resort. There were numerous menu items ranging from fish/chicken/beef, pastas, every breakfast food you could ask for, and a great selection of fruit and vegetables. For kids there are hamburgers, cold cuts, cheesburgers, hot dogs, and pizza offered at every lunch and dinner.

If you choose to eat at the "Adult Only Restaurant" be cautious. It appears that they allow children in so don't expect a quiet meal. There are also only two options for dinner so you'll be at the mercy of the chefs desire. We chose to leave the restaurant and eat at the buffet restaurant instead.

Be prepared to ask some questions of the staff. Certain things such as photos (taken by staff) can be purchased but the service is not advertised.

Special thanks are in order to Becca, Adam, and Eric of the bar staff. Not only did they run an efficient service, but they also took the time to make our son feel welcome as well. The entire staff of Kids Club Med get speacial thanks as well.

Overall the family vacation was all that we had hoped. We have no regret over chosing the resort and will defintiely return.

Just remember if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this isn't for you. This is a full service family resort.

“great vacation with familly”

Club Med Sandpiper

This is an excellent vacation if you have kids, and have friends with kids as well. Club Med has a camp for children that they absolutely loved, that went all day , and then you could put them in a "pajama club" at night. High quality activities for them during the day.

For adults, it means you have a lot of free time. You can visit with friends, golf, water ski, take a nap, hang by the pool, whatever.

The resort itself is a little tired - the rooms are large and comfortable, but dated. so is the rest of the property really. Food is pretty good - not great, but definitely plentiful. Drinks were fairly good quality and generously poured. Staff was friendly. If you get this at a good price, you can overlook the bad stuff (which was not all that bad) and have a great time.

“Children everywhere!”

Went to Sandpiper Club Med for the first time this past weekend. Lucky us we live in Florida so we got a nice resident discount.

First off, the staff are very nice and jumping to help make sure you have a good time. The place is very nice - great landscaping, spacious, clean room. Pools are very nice. Food is very good too, and there is lots of it! One of the nicest this is that everything is paid for. All food, drinks, tips. There are no bills or tip jars. Just smile and say thank you! (There are several activites that have additional costs such as jetskis and water toys, roller blades, scooters, tours, daytrips.)

The best value to be had here is by families, particularly with younger kids. They have very organized activities for them trough out the day. My teen, however, was a little too old for that. Now there is a teen club, but it's more like kids coming and going without any real structure. Sometimes there would be other kids, sometimes not.

Did I mention the kids? There are children everywhere! Screaming and playing and having a good time! Unfortunately their parents are no where to be found.

Sandpiper has many activities to keep you busy. Unfortunately, we were unaware of several of the activities and missed out. We were given a schedule of when the sports opened and closed- Sailing, Archery, trapeze, golf, waterski... but no understanding of signup times.

For example, we waited in line to waterski for an hour only to find out we needed to sign up first thing in the morning. There are also nice shows. We missed the first two since we didn't know about them.

I wish someone would have pointed out that the activities for the day are posted outside the buffet restaurant. This is the only place for info.

Also, there is a nice, non-buffet restaurant for dinner. The food is sooooo good. The dinner is an appetizer, soup, sala, entree and desert. You must make reservations in the reception at 8am for that evening - another thing we missed out on since we didn't know.

Lastly, there are a ton of kids. Some of them are fine, but many of them are rude and very loud. This is a great place to go if you want to let your kids go wild, but not so great if you want relaxation, peace and quiet.

All in all, it was a nice place and we might go back.
