I have learned to check up on any property or Motel that I am not familiar with. First, let me say that I do not book for 5 star resorts, I am just not a 5 star kind of girl. What I do want is something clean, safe, friendly and usually within walking distance of the beach. I read all the reviews posted for the Florida Dolphin and for the most part the people that had stayed there all said they would return. We arrived Friday afternoon, traveling in from West Central Georgia, The beach was empty, the motel was empty as well. Now to some this would have been a bad thing but to be able to get away to warm weather and beach and not have the usual array of beach goers was a dream come true. The motel was very clean, well groomed, easy to find and with in walking distance of a beach opening. The price was decent, although I though with it being empty when I upgraded to a larger unit they might have at least entertained the thought of a small discount, but they didn't. There were one other couple at the Motel all the other rooms were empty, the pools, we had all to ourselves and the beach was very quiet, a few sun lovers but not what you would expect for a beautiful week-end in September. In all the units were older...with a key for entry..can you believe it? We left our linens outside our door to be swapped out..There was no fancy lobby or restraunt..but to me it was a very real reminder of the past before big business and condos took over. would I go back? You bet I will next year the third week in September. I might even take enough friends down with me to fill'er up.
