Had heard from a couple of people locally that Tango was great. Went on a weeknight and still had a bit of trouble getting in but we snagged 8 PM reservations.
Stopped in at Bud and Alleys upstairs bar in Seaside early for a glass of vino and then headed to Cafe Tango despite the Sugar Bowl starting as we left. I had forgotten about it.
Anyhoo, Cafe Tango is smallish and intimate with only six or seven tables. It has a nice romantic feel and we arrived to a full house and were seated in the smaller off the main portion room up front with two tables.
I had a nice chocolately smooth Guiness and the wife had a glass of Chardonnay whose label escapes me at the moment but it was the same glass she had at Bud and Alley's only a bit less expensive. Her only issue was it could have bveen chilled a bit more as the waiter opened the new bottle at the table.
We ordered a Scallop App with carmelized endive and a honey key lime sauce. It did not disappoint and the melange of flavors were exactly as expected and welcomed.
My wife had the special, Sauteed Grouper with lobster medallions, crab, shrimp and sauce while I opted for the Filet with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce and Crabmeat.
The entrees came with salad and also a nice side of sugar snap peas with other goodies and a portion of creamy and delish mashed potatoes. This is a nice surprise since many places serve these items ala carte, meaning more money when the check arrives.
The salads were tasty and the entrees were as good as we expected and we finished them off along with some great bread dipped in an olive oil concoction with herbs and cheese.
Our final rating is always.....WILL we be back and the answer here is a resounding yes.
Next time I wil opt for the duck or lamb for something different and hope to save room for the Key Lime Pie or Creme Brulee with Cappuccino.
A great date place. Cafe Tango is to be commended for adding to the dining scene here on the Emerald Coast.
