I just returned from a lovely three day weekend at the Cypress, a bed and breakfast in Sarasota, Florida. We stayed in the Elizabeth Brittany Suite which is a lovely little room with an adjacent sitting room and bath. Our friends stayed in the Martha Rose Suite which is a larger room with a sitting area and a large bath. The photos you see in the website are accurate so I do not need to attach photos here. The house is across the street from the water. Vicki, Nina and Robert are the owners and are very nice and helpful. Robert will make you a wonderful breakfast and then at 6:00 p.m. he will serve his famous Mango Fandago on the front porch under the oak trees. The Cypress is only a few blocks away from the historic downtown section of Sarasota, filled with art galleries, antique shops, boutiques and great restaurants. Don't miss the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. You have got to take the sunset cruise on the LeBarge. It comes complete with flying mermaids and palm trees. Get there early to get a good seat on top or on the bow. Please visit the Mary Shelby Botanical Gardens while there, also within a short walk of the Cypress. The Ringling Museum is about four miles down the road and is really something you should not miss. I will have to go back to see all the other attractions Sarasota has to offer.
The Martha Rose room is spacious and the whole front of it is a window looking out over the water.
