Rooms were dirty and musty smelling. Linens stained; blankets ratty. We finally convinced clerk to switch our room and it was still unclean. We would not sleep without our street clothes in the bed. Next day complained to clerk and was told, manager, Jennifer, would be in touch with us. I filed complaint on website. When I finally spoke with Jennifer,she claimed I never complained about the hotel. Board of Health should be called since it is not clean, unsanitary.
We have had good experiences in BW; this was exception.

We recently stayed for two nights at the Best Western Midtown in Sarasota while attending a funeral. I was a little nervous about booking this hotel because of the mixed reviews. We booked directly thru the Best Wesern website and got a good deal paying about $138 for the two nights. The hotel had recentlly been renovated. We had a non-smoking room with a King bed. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, there was a fridge and microwave and the furniture all appeared to be new. No complaints at all. The breakfast looked average. We opted for just coffee because we had already made plans for breakfast. The pool area looked clean, although we did not have a chance to use it. The hotel was also beside a grocery store and a Bennigans, and not far from the local beaches. I would have no problems recommending this hotel.

This is a great hotel to stay in. You are in the middle of all attractions. They also give a 7-10am breakfast and they are friendly people. Iam planning to return for the month of September. I had a wonderful time here. The room brings a coffee maker, iron, and a hair blow dryer.....they will even give you any small items that you forgot to pack like a brush, toothpaste, toothbrush etc. For this price you can't beat it. I enjoy my stay and I will reccommend this place to anybody who is on vacation or a business trip.

When I first heard I was staying at a Best Western for a business trip (and it was $65 a night), I was horrified. But upon arriving, I was extremely pleased to find a cute, comfortable, clean hotel. The exterior corridors were fine based on the fact that it was Florida in July. The pool was nice and clean. The rooms were nice and it seemed like everything was fairly new, and definitely clean (a sign out front said it had been recently renovated and it seemed like it probably was). Thanks to Elizabeth and Roger, who were both very friendly and helpful. Especially for the price, I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. One downside is that although it was a pretty central location, and everything was close by, you had to drive everywhere, there was nowhere to walk to besides Bennigans. But very very nice overall!!
