Suntide Island Beach club is one of the last of the old style beach resorts on Lido Key. The key is slowly being bought up by the big developers with companies such as the Ritz Carlton and soon ,the Waldorf developing huge super-resorts where once there were simple small resorts. We spent four weeks in Suntide between 2 hectic weeks in Orlando and loved the peace and quiet . The resort is just 2 storeys and is directly on the sands of the Gulf of Mexico. Spectacular views. We stayed in a one bedroom unit for 3 weeks and then moved to a 2. Front office staff very accommodating and both units were well maintained and decorated. There is a laundry on site. We enjoyed the weekly barbeques and the Monday am welcome party with coffee and doughnuts...nice touch. We were very pleased with the free broadband internet service in the rooms...something we have missed is some of the more showy places in Orlando. Although this is a time share resort there was no mention of sales simply a board in the reception area detailing units for sale . We enjoyed being able to walk to lovely St Armands circle and in our time there, managed to sample most of the restaurants and coffee bars. Hope to return next December.
