we were visting stuart and had booked best western but then we had to rebook and chose this one. the room was the best you can get, office home i think it was called, we paid under £40 and the value for money was fabulous, the free breakfast in the morning was good with lots of choice! the bed was huge and the room clean, we were on the ground floor but did not feel unsecure, reception very helpful and friendly and the bar attached to the hotel was very welcoming late at night after our long drive. even though we did not visit the pool we wandered round there and it look a nice basic pool which i am sure would be very welcoming in the heat of the day. the aircon was fab, it switched off when it got to optimum temperature and then came back on again when it dropped below. quiet and very modern.
excellent short stay and good place to get a good nights sleep

“Very safe and amazing staff!!”

When I stay at a hotel my biggest concern is safety. This is probably the safest hotel I have ever stayed in. My fiance and I got to the hotel around 11pm, dropped our luggage, went out to eat but I locked the front door with the lock and the latch and then went out the back door facing the parking lot locking it behind us. The back door was a sliding glass door and since it faced the parking lot we didn't want to leave it unlocked. We realized we were locked out at about 2 in the morning when our key didn't work and I remembered what I had done!. We tried to push, pull, lift and yank the door open. But it didn't move, not even an inch for us to get something in and pull the latch of the sliding door. We finally went and told the receptionist. He called the manager who came in the middle of the night to help us get in. We felt really bad because we woke him up, I know I wouldn't be happy. The next day they were smiling at us and were very nice. I was expecting them to be rude but they were just very nice people. I definitely know that nobody can try to come in this hotel so you can feel pretty safe about staying here, The room was cleaned every day and the staff is amazing. I would reccommend this hotel to everybody visiting Stuart.

“Good hotel for the price!”

The hotel is an older hotel which is nicely maintained. We stayed in a first floor room overlooking the pool. The sliding glass door on the back of the room made me a bit uncomfortable, but other than that we felt safe.

For the price we paid ($75/night), it was a good find and included a continental breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom spacious.

The only minor complaints I have is that the outer door key card reader didn't work too well, and the pillows were a bit flat. They also only had 3 bath towels (we had a family of 4 staying there). Despite this, I would stay at this property again.

“Worst attitude of a Sales Director in 10 years visiting Florida”

This was our second visit to this Hotel. We were greated with the fact that the hotel was under new management and the person making the statement made it clear that he was the Sales Director. He said that we would notice the difference. I and my grown up family were given the key card to our room and directed where we could find it. On arrival in the room it appeared quite bleak. My wife made her way back to the reception area to request extra pillows for our beds. She received an nasty response of no chance from the afore mentioned person.Very loudly in fron of others booking in. She is 70years old and she came back very upset. I then went to see why ? In turn I was told that if I was not satisfied we did not have to stay. We were booked in for 3 nights out of our 28 day tour of Florida. We packed our vehicle and left. Never to return again.I think future interested visitors should be made aware of our experience.

“Absolutely terrible”

Howard Johnson Hotel - Stuart

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in many.

- Our reservation had been bungled, and my wife and I wound up in a room with two twin beds instead of a queen. I called the front desk to ask for a room change, and was told that I had asked for two beds. When I suggested that there must have been a mistake, the manager became indignant and rude.

- The hotel room was in pitiful shape. Wires were sticking out of a gaping hole in the wall. The door was splattered with paint. The walls were bare. The beds were uncomfortable and creaky, with thin blankets that felt like cardboard.

- The room was missing many of the bare essentials you expect in a hotel: do not disturb sign, pen and notepad, phone book, alarm clock.

- A housekeeper walked into the room without knocking (before we'd gotten our hands on a "do not disturb" sign).

Avoid at all costs.
