We were forced to stay here after the office at the Monterey Inn was closed. I have to say the front desk people were very nice and patient with us as we waited for an authorization fax. They were pleasant and helpful to everyone that came in to rent a room. The lobby was very clean.
However, the hotel room is very old and rundown. The only room they had left was a handicapped room, so everything was really low to the ground (not that much of a problem but a little bit uncomfortable). The room stayed very humid. I had to go to wal-mart to get lysol wipes to wipe down the room, as it was not the cleanest of rooms. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The carpet needed cleaning.
A train goes by several times a night so it was a bit hard to get a good night sleep. You can hear whats going on in other room's bathrooms it seemed. Contruction on the room above us started really early in the morning. Vending machine prices were outrageous. It is pretty close to several restaurants which was great. Also there was a mini fridge in the room, it turned out to be useful.
Cable was alright, 3 HBO channels, news channels, and about 3 local channels. The free internet was great.
Seems to be one of the only hotels in the immediate area. Bottom line, the rooms need better cleaning and updating. If youre staying for a night, you'll be fine. Not for long-term stays.
