Staff is extremely courteous, accommodating and helpful. Rooms are clean and well appointed. The pool and the surrounding area is clean and relaxing. I would not hesitate to stay again and would definitely recommend to others.

This is a tough one to rate. My family and I just returned from a nine day stay in this hotel which my children enjoyed enormously thanks to our poolside room. The pool's a decent size but not heated. However, to hardy British children this was not a problem.
Positive:
Our room was pretty average, but during our stay it became clear that all the rooms are being refurbished so standards will improve. Our chambermaid was very nice and helpful, leaving us plenty of extra towels for swimming. The bathroom was cleaned properly every day (which is important with two little boys drinking lots of juice to stay hydrated!) We had a fridge in our room (you need to request this to ensure you get one -- I don't think they're standard) which was very useful. Also good to know if you're traveling with kids -- they eat free in the restaurant which helps if you are on a budget. Free use of internet-connected laptops in the lobby was very handy and a couple of the front desk staff were great -- very friendly and helpful. Coin-operated washing facilities very convenient for long-stay guests.
Negatives:
On the down side, the underside of one of our bedspreads was horribly stained and really shouldn't have been on the bed. My six-year-old acquired a pet cockroach in the bathroom, but I suppose that that's just Florida. A couple of the girls on the front desk didn't seem to know or care what they were doing. I asked one girl if she had the phone number for any airport transportation and she looked at me as if I was insane. I got the same response when I asked for a safe deposit box -- it took three of them to work out what to do! The one night when we really didn't feel like dragging the kids out for dinner, the hotel restaurant was closed as the cook had called in sick and they had no back up. Finally, as a previous reviewer mentioned, if you're at the back of the hotel you will have to get used to freight trains rumbling past and blowing their horns all through the night -- the first night it scared me half to death!
Bottom line - hotel choice is limited in this town, but I would suggest that this is the best of what's on offer in Stuart.

We were forced to stay here after the office at the Monterey Inn was closed. I have to say the front desk people were very nice and patient with us as we waited for an authorization fax. They were pleasant and helpful to everyone that came in to rent a room. The lobby was very clean.
However, the hotel room is very old and rundown. The only room they had left was a handicapped room, so everything was really low to the ground (not that much of a problem but a little bit uncomfortable). The room stayed very humid. I had to go to wal-mart to get lysol wipes to wipe down the room, as it was not the cleanest of rooms. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The carpet needed cleaning.
A train goes by several times a night so it was a bit hard to get a good night sleep. You can hear whats going on in other room's bathrooms it seemed. Contruction on the room above us started really early in the morning. Vending machine prices were outrageous. It is pretty close to several restaurants which was great. Also there was a mini fridge in the room, it turned out to be useful.
Cable was alright, 3 HBO channels, news channels, and about 3 local channels. The free internet was great.
Seems to be one of the only hotels in the immediate area. Bottom line, the rooms need better cleaning and updating. If youre staying for a night, you'll be fine. Not for long-term stays.

ServiceI would lean more towards the negative review previously posted than the positive review. It's not your typical Holiday Inn, more an okay roadside motel using the name. Rooms are okay at best, but I didn't experience the bad shower water. Train does make noise, but certainly not hourly. Needs more TLC to be a good motel.
We were booked for two nights of business travel, but we moved to another hotel after one night. This hotels needs immediate updating. If you are looking for a quiet night's sleep, stay elsewhere. This hotel is right next to the railroad tracks. The train runs on the hour, every hour, every day. Not to mention the airplanes flying into the West Palm Beach airport. The rooms are not sound proof. These are exterior rooms and they are dated. The furniture and bedding is worn. Room service food was poor. We had green water coming from the shower, and management sat on it until we checked out. Great cable!
