My family and I recently visited Busch Gardens, Tampa - there were 6 of us. 4 adults & 2 teens. We were extremely disappointed. The price to get in was high, but typical. The lines for the rides were long and on 3 different rides, after waiting over an hour the rides broke and they shut them down. (some of the rides had people stuck on them for nearly an hour in the blistering heat) Now, I can see this happening maybe once during a visit - BUT 3 TIMES ON 3 DIFFERENT RIDES ??? It was very frustrating to say the least. I think they need to do something about the maintainence on their rides - of all the amusement parks we have visited in the past, I would have to say that this one tops the list of "worst amusement park experiences"
We took the train ride around to see the animals - didn't see many - and the girl who was our "guide" could barely speak English and really had very little knowledge of the animals.
All in all, a very disappointing experience for all of us. This is one I wouldn't mind skipping...

My boyfriend and I had a great time at Busch gardens. Great rides, especially the rollercoaster rides. The Sheikra looked like a lot of fun, but I have to admit I was a little intimidated to ride. The 90 degree drop just looked a little unsettling to me, but the thrill seekers would definitely enjoy! Looking at all the animals was an added bonus and I especially enjoyed the Lory Aviary. You can actually feed the birds nectar while they perch on your shoulder, fingers, hair, or whatever. A definite must for any bird lover. I really enjoyed this park and would definitely return if I was ever in the area again.

Finally visited Busch Gardens after holidaying in Orlando for 10 years or so.

We benefited from a 2nd day free so this was good as you are not forced to cram everything in one day, although I am the first to admit I do go a bit crazy once I am through the gates.

I went with my wife and two sons, 16 and 5 yrs old. None of us are roller coaster fans, we do like the animals and the stuff for the little boy.

We did the serengeti safari on day 2 and were well pleased, we booked the first one of the day and the weather was overcast so we had loads of giraffes around us for what seemed like ages, I would thoroughly recommend doing this tour.

The food was the usual sort and price for theme parks, the best place was called the Zambia smoke house I think.

Overall well worth a visit.

I returned from florida this morning and visited busch gardens twice.
I was very suprised by the size of the park as it is huge! A few tips would be to get the train or sky ride though check the train times and sky ride can have a long wait. Plan a route throughout the park otherwise you'll never get it done, and listen to the waiting time signs they do tell the complete truth, (Only few times say the wait is longer than it is.) Finally the food is way over priced and if you are vegetarian then you can have chips or chips with cheese thats it! Im just going to give a simple review of most attractions:

SHEIKRA- This always has the longest queues and is the most popular attraction. It is a brilliant rollercoaster with a 90 degree verticle drop. Though it is slightly over rated, you can even buy your own dvd experience of the ride! It is very impressive but over quite quickly-still enjoyable though.

MONTU- Another great rollercoaster full of loops and corkscrews very smooth and enjoyable.

GWAZI- A fast paced wooden rollercoaster with drops and turns, better than I expected and less than a 10 minute queue. Be careful though as it is not smooth and can jar your neck.

SCORPION- This looks like a small tame coaster with only 1 loop but it is actually quite fast and impressive as there is only a lap bar yet you go upside down. A bit too long to wait though.

CONGO RIVER RAPIDS- These are great fun but you will get soaked! most the water comes from spectators payed to wet you with a spray! The raft does jolt quite a lot and you can easily hit your back against the sharp edges on the seats.

RHINO RALLY- I waited 50 minutes on my first visited and at the last moment that the water section closed and without it the ride lasted under 2minutes and was rather dull. The second visted the water section was working and made the whole experience loads better.

There are two mmore rollercoasters-Kumba (another looping fast paced coaster) but it was shut for both visits, and Cheetah chase(a family rollercoaster) which had a line far too long for what it was.

The show priates 4D was the same one from Thorpe Park and it is not that great.

There are other water rides but they had long queues.

The animals are great to looks at and you can meet the trainers and hear all about them. You can also pay extra to go on a special tour and stroke a giraffe but it costs around $40 each.

It was a brilliant two days and the animals should not be missed but there are little other attractions for those that do not like rollercoasters. Also remember you are not allowed belongings on most rides so you have to use lockers which you have to pay for.

I hope you enjoy your visit!

Busch Garden's is one of the best parks in Florida! My family and I booked a trip to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure Orlando and weren't that impressed- we finished both those parks in 2 days. To fill up our remaining time, we then went to Sea World, which was a little better. Our last adventure was Busch Gardens, and let me tell you we saved the best for last! The roller coasters here are incredible! We went the first week of May and there were virtually NO WAITING IN LINES at all! We were even able to ride most roller coasters a second time without even having to get off! The food was excellent, (a little pricey- after all, you are at an amusement park), but the portions were good size and worth the money. The lay-out of this park and the tropical scenery here are just breathtaking. The animals look well taken care of, and the park was spotless. Also, I really liked the Busch Gardens band that plays at the entrance- what a warm welcome that was! Put it this way, if we hadn't gone to Busch Gardens this trip, it would have been a waste of a vacation! One more thing, don't forget to ride Sheikra and Montu- one of the two most awesome roller coasters in all of Florida! You won't be disappointed!! ;-)
