I had my wedding here at the Atlantic Bay Resort on Saturday, April 28, 2008 and I honestly could not have dreamed of a better location. Heather at the front desk was a doll through all of my ups and downs planning my wedding. I'm sure that I drove her crazy, but not once did she seem to mind, nor did the owner or staff wince at our hundreds of visits to the resort for planning reasons. The resort was more than accommodating with any request that we had. You could tell they honestly wanted us to have a good wedding weekend. We were able to have the wedding of our dreams at a quiet, clean resort with no hassles. The rooms were all large, clean and cozy. Oh and I have to mention the sunset was AMAZING from the beach. The 14 days spent at Atlantic Bay Resort took me back to the days of the Old Keys but polished and refined to a new level. Both accomodations and grounds proved to provide the level of relaxation often sought but seldon fully realized. The entire staff made every effort to ensure every need was met while making us feel like we were truely home. The area while close to shopping is minutes away from either Key Largo to the North or Islamorada to the South, both provide excellant choices for dinning.

What a find! For $79USD (efficiency), my husband and I found this beautiful, clean resort a bargain. I only wish we had stayed longer after the hubub of Key West and before the expected busy but fun days at in Orlando. We stayed at the Swan Resort (balcony Hollywood View) but I prefer this quiet, nature-oriented resort and altogether, Tavernier.
My family back home worried about a glitch in our itinerary so they emailed Atlantic Bay to warn us. The friendly staff delivered the email to our door and offered the use of their computer to reply. Very nice touch of courtesy.
Will stay here again and maybe convince the rest of the family (25 in the clan) to stay and use some if not all their cottages.
Warning - beach is nice but like the rest of the keys, it's no good if you want to do some swimming or even wading.

This is what used to be called the Bay Breeze Resort, I stayed there with my wife 10 years ago. This time, I just came down on my own for some snorkeling and diving.

The grounds are nicely kept, with tropical foliage, a nice pool and a beach area. Don't quite agree with a previous post that they don't have a swimming beach - yes, they do. To the far right is an area where you can easily enter and exit. The seagrass on the bottom is unfortunately a protcted species, so you can't remove it. Then you just swim out a little bit to where it is depper. The water is crystal clear and flat calm, which is better for small kids. The Atlantic side has rougehr water.

I enjoyed my stay very much and will return with my wife and two children (8 and 6).
