This was a very nice Holiday Inn located in Venice, FL. It was just a short drive to downtown Venice and the beach. The rooms were very clean and nice. The pool and surrounding areas were great.

I would recommend this hotel, definitely!

This Winter Break will be the third time that we have stayed at the Holiday Inn in Venice. The picture of the lobby may be misleading.
Although it is grand and very attractive, the hotel rooms are very standard. But we spend very little time there. Instead, mornings are spent eating the delicious brunch in the bright and airy cafe. The pool is heated to a warm and comfortable temperature, and we can swim even on those rare 60 degree winter days. The kids love the sand volleyball court, the basketball hoop out by the parking lot, and the shuffleboard and ping pong tables. Shopping for groceries is right across the street at a strip mall (you can picnic on the tables at the outdoor courtyard of the hotel), and charming downtown Venice and the Gulf Beaches are only minutes away. When we book early, we can get a very reasonable price--even lower than the Motel 6 down the block. We've found the hotel to be very clean.

My hsuband and I went to this Hotel for a mini vacation, was suppose to be 3 nights. When we drove up the front like just like the picture but that was as far as it went. It turned out to be a motel, we had to drive in the back to get to our room. I was still in shock. I was like are you sure?! The first room had such a strong odor I knew there was mole in here. I went to turn the a/c off and guess where I found the moles hiding place? yes, the a/c. In less than 1/2 hour we changed the room. The only one available was a handicapp room so everything was below our chest. We kept the a/c off. I couldn't sleep, our room was facing ourdoors so I heard everything that passed. I went to sleep at 3am and had nightmares about the place. Safety was important to us, there was only a chain lock not even the ones everyother hotel has. If you are a simple simple simple don't care where you're at, you can stay. I slept on my own blanket. I couldn't take it so the next day we found another Holiday Inn in Sarasota. It was beautiful. Although my husband didn't like traveling to and from hotel we both enjoyed Saraosta. We stayed in Lakewood ranch. Breakfast was icnredible, we were so full we couldn't talk to our server just nodded. The service was great, they made a mistake on the rate and took care of it. This made up for our trip, I hope they will refund us for the other hotel, we had to pay for two nights even though we only stayed for one.
