The Chophouse is a good place to stop and have a cocktail with lunch or dinner on Lake Burton. They now have a full bar. Food is good and isn't overpriced considering the location.
My only concern is with the General Manager, Jeff. I visited The Chophouse over the July 4th holiday and again, last week. My first experience with Manager Jeff was at the bar. He was blowing spit balls at the employees right beside me as I'm trying to eat. The poor bar worker was clearly having to tolerate his boss, acting like a child. He kept up his child like playing the entire time I was there.
On the second visit, there was Manager Jeff again, acting the fool. Making derogatory remarks about how one of the employees set something up that "looked too gay." This was said loudly and rather proudly. This time, he didn't blow spit balls at the employees, he throw mint leaves onto the back of an unsuspecting bar employee while he was trying to ring up order. He "tried to help" waiters and waitresses with serving wrong orders to the wrong tables.
This is a nice place and worth a visit, but if you see Manager Jeff heading for your table, just smile and send him on his way. I have no idea how he ever got that position.
