This almost new Hilton Garden Inn sits on a wonderful spacious tract just north of Atlanta Airport and so convenient to I-85. It is actually within the small community of East Point with its nice streets and expanse of fine restaurants. Everything is within walking distance BUT everybody rides thanks to the very nice hotel vans which shuttle to the airport and all the places within reason that you ask.
And due to its setbacks and orientation, the quite solitude of the property is surprising given its closeness to the big Atlanta Airport and major Interstates. You are literally only 10 minutes from downtown by car. And Rapid Transit is close by to the luxury of north Atlanta shopping which will avoid the cross town auto traffic problems.
This hotel is done quite proud by its staff. They are SO friendly. And you can tell they mean it. Southern Hospitality with a smile and they cannot do enough for you. From the moment we set foot in the warm lobby with its cozy seating areas off to the side by the fire place, we felt at home. And the warm indoor pool, hot tub, fitness room overlooked the outdoor pool. Impressive.
Our room was very nice with a wonderful view over the garden like landscape looking east. And the lights at night were very pleasant from the distant high rise buildings. And yes, the airport traffic was visible some distance to the south. (You are NOT underneath a flight pattern...well away, in fact).
The dining room for dinner was a very pleasant surprise. We knew their breakfast would be great but their dinner surprised us. Their staff had answered our questions about other choices with great suggestions for non hotel dining. But an awful, chilling rain with gusty winds made the hotel's warm fireside dining an easy choice. Great service plus, frankly, a superb dinner of seafood, soups, and salads.... with a modest price for Atlanta.
We thoroughly enjoyed our whole stay. The solitude of this hotel was terrific and just so close to all you need, A real gem and somewhat undiscovered hotel that stands ahead of the many choices...and it is almost in the shadow of the tower of the Atlanta Airport Hilton.
We will definitely choose this hotel again.
