I have never left a hotel review before but since I usually depend on them alot when I choose a place to stay, I figured I should add my two cents this time. I was nervous about booking this hotel because the reviews were so up and down but the price was great! We came to Atlanta for the National Cheer competition and knew there would be thousands of people staying downtown, so we opted to stay a little further out. The location is great! Only about 15 minutes from the Georgia World Congress Center and very easy access to the highway. It is a smaller hotel and very quiet. We stayed on the top (3rd) floor so there was no banging over us anyways. The front desk staff were wonderful. Very polite and accommodating. We had an issue with charges on our credit card and the staff were great about admitting they didn't know what to do and getting us someone who could help us. I was on crutches during our stay and on two separate occasions, a staff member took a towel and wiped up any and all drops of water that could have been an issue for me, from kids leaving the pool area without drying off. They were very cheerful and hospitable with my whole family! The breakfast was really good. It is advertised as a continental but they had made-to-serve Belgium waffles, hot eggs, sausage plau all the regular stuff like cereal, bagels, yogurt. The woman staffing it our first morning, saw that we had our hands full with three kids and me on crutches, so she stood at the waffle maker and made them for us. The tables were kept fairly clean and the entire dining area was very pleasant to eat in. Granted, it was pretty quiet when we went so I'm not sure how smoothly it would run if it was busy. There are two waffle makers but they take time to cook. My kids loved them though and had waffles every morning of the 4 days we were there :). My only complaint would be that the mattresses were a bit thin and the bed moved alot if there was more than one person sharing it. Also, the blankets were pretty thin and if the nights had been colder, we would have had to ask for more. I don't like to run the heat much because it drys out the air. I liked that the heat/AC was pretty quiet, though we run fans to sleep anyways so it was perfect. No loud on and off noises like in some hotels. The sofa bed was decent, again, not top quality but fine for our needs. Plus, I realize this was not the highest end Marriot out there, lol.
The pool was great. This was my kids favorite part! I also like that there is a shower right next to the hot tub to rinse off . They also offer a fair amount of drinks and snacks for purchase, though a little pricey for us. Especially with a Walmart right down the street.
I wish the kitchenette had offered a few more items, such as plates, cups, silverware...that kind of thing as we brought lunch items from home to save on eating out. We were able to use plasticware from the breakfasts though.
All in all, we were very pleased with what we got for the price. My daughter will be cheering down here again next year and we are already planning to stay here again, plus adding a few more days so we can "site-see" around the city a bit more :)
