The Fairfield Inn Six Flags suffers primarily from the declining suburbs of Atlanta along the East and West corridors of Atlanta. With most of the clientele of the restaurants, shopping and hotels in the area, a person may feel overdressed or preppy in simply khaki shorts and a golf shirt..
As for the hotel, it is clean and is in decent shape. The rooms are standard Fairfield Inn quality with nothing particularly special. The pool area is small and indoor; the areas around the pool were clean and had ample seating. Towels were provided for guests to use.
Issues that arose dealt primarily with the front desk clerk who assigned us to a room already occupied; she apologized profusely and blamed it on the person working the desk before her shift. Later in the evening, my wife stopped at the desk to ask directions to restaurants in the area; the clerk was none too happy that her personal phone call was interrupted. Also, that evening, I witnessed the phones ringing off the hook at the front desk while the clerk chatted on her cell phone.
The room had a dehumidifier in it; however, when it was turned on, the A/C was never able to cool the room. Once we turned off the dehumidifier, the room cooled nicely. I am still scratching my head over this...oh well.
