We are only new to B&B's and chose the Lakeside Escape from reviews posted on the net. What a wonderful place in every way! From the moment we arrived we were treated like one of the family and Rob and Denny (and Charlie the Cockatiell of course) made us feel right at home.
We chose the Kingfisher room with the spa in the ensuite and the view across the tranquil Wallis Lake was magnificent. You could lay in bed and see it all or relax on the balcony and take in the whole panorama, complete with the odd lone pelican leisurely cruising by on the still waters below.
Lakeside Escape is not at lake level but up the hill a little so there is a short walk to get to the water. But the elevation is what gives you the magnificent views. Breakfast is served on the upstairs balcony and it would be difficult to find a more relaxing place to start the day. Breakfast is from a small but adequate menu, but whatever your fancy would be no problem.
Rob and Denny have created an intimate experience for couples (no kids) and their attention to detail is amazing. If you are looking for a small, very quiet and friendly place to stay in this area then Lakeside Escape is certainly somewhere to seriously consider.
