“Very Disappointing”

The Coeur d'Alene Resort

Our family of four stayed here from Jun 16-19. Since they didn't have any suites with two beds, we opted for two "regular" rooms. At $200/night each, I was expecting something relatively nice. Not even close. Reminded us of an older Days Inn with a nice view of an air conditioning unit. Felt like we were staying in a trailer park.

The service was also marginal. Although we didn't have any major problems, we had some sort of problem or glitch with almost every interaction we had with the hotel. This included the reservations process, the valet service, the check in process, the concierge and the Sunday brunch. Our rooms weren't cleaned until 3:00/4:00.

Aside from the Resort, we liked the town and surrounding area a lot. We enjoyed eating at Hudson's Hamburger's, Tito Macoroni and the Bonsai Bistro. The Couer d'Alene Brewery had good beer and so-so food.

I just returned from a weekend at the resort on business. We booked 5 rooms, all with lake views and golfing for 8. We were very pleased with our rooms, they had beautiful views with sunkin living rooms. We had dinner at The Cedars and the food and service was wonderful. We didn't realize that this weekend was the Ironman Triathalon and the hotel was really busy and still everyone was so nice from checking in to checking out. I accidently left my credit card at the Golf Resort and before I even knew it was missing they had tracked me down at the resort to return it. Our Caddy Dan was wonderful and very patient since we did have a few in our group that had never golfed before. Overall we had a great time and my guest felt they were catered to all weekend. We will be back again next year for another shot at the floating green!

We spent 6 nights at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. I was very surprised at our room. For the price, I really thought we would have a luxury room, but instead we had a room that was in need of some updates, to start with the carpet was frayed where it met the tile in the entry way. We had no balcony, and while we did have a peek of the lake out our window, it was mostly a view of the old wood on the roof of the area below us. I had to request a clean bedspread since ours had some spots that looked like blood on it. And the blanket was so old it looked like it was falling apart, but the bed had double sheets, so it was covered up. Although the shower had nice slate looking tile, there was no tub.

(I have seen in some publications, and I believe there was even a comment on TripAdvisor that the rooms are newly renovated. They must mean the Premier Rooms, because our room did not look like it had been updated.)

I felt a little upset with the price, and room, until I spoke to a couple of other people about their room. I then felt lucky to have what we had! Apparently, some of the rooms are close in comparison to a Motel 6, and believe me they are not $29.95! Not sure why a fancy place would even offer these types of rooms, and if they do they should make sure they are described in FULL detail, before the guest arrives. Although I did not personally see the rooms, I do know this group was not happy.

The real topper was the $15.00 per night that is charged for parking ON TOP of the inflated room rates.

The employees we encountered all seemed very cordial, and willing to accommodate all in our group. But, unfortunately, all rooms were booked, so switching rooms was out of the question.

We spent a couple of nights at the Oxford Suites in Spokane before driving over to Coeur d'Alene, and I can assure you, our room was a much more comfortable size, was cleaner, and we had a great view of the river from our balcony, for half the price!

The Coeur d'Alene Resort

Coeur D'alene Resort is located on the beautiful Coeur D'alene Lake and has the award winning golf course. It is convenient to downtown shopping and has it's own mall of shops, however, it's only 70% occupied with stores. Our 2 day stay was riddled with problems, enough that we would not recommend staying there. Our reservation was a "queen double" as we had our two adult sons traveling with us; what we got was a (very hard & uncomfortable) king bed and queen couch pull out which was so uncomfortable that one son opted to just sleep on the floor. When we asked about the accommodations, we were informed this was a "2 bed" room. The temperature in the room with the thermostat at 60 degrees, stayed 77-78 degrees until well after midnight...very miserable! When the maintenance man was called, he was prompt in arriving, simply took off the cover and blew in it and told me that there was dirt on the contact, and plus with 4 adults in the room was the reason it wasn't cooling effectively. Oddly enough, we've travelled many times and have never had problems with our body heat causing the a/c not to work properly. This hotel is overpriced for what you get. It was very clean with nice marble/ granite in the bathroom (there was a little mold in the shower even though it was dark brown/black granite, mold was visible on the grout). The commode would only flush if you held the handle down. If you chose to say here, be aware everything is quiet expensive. Also, when we got there at 3:30pm, our room was not available until 4:05, so we had to wait around in the lobby with our luggage. My husband had a 4pm meeting to be at, and had to go without changing clothes. They did offer to keep our luggage for us. Everyone was friendly, but for the price I would suggest saving your money and staying somewhere else.

“Terrific Conference facility”

The Coeur d'Alene Resort

The resort and staff must have bent over backwards for us. More to their credit they made it seem easy. Rooms were fresh, clean and offered all the expected amenities of a four diamond resort. Views of the lake outstanding. Conference facilities well setup and serviced. With the exception of a wifi glitch, conference services couldn't have been better. Food and beverage was out of this world. I mean this and am not prone to exageration. Staffing was ample and friendly. Would go back in a heartbeat for business or pleasure.
