This Hyatt location is a nice property. It features a nice atrium style lobby, with a restaurant and bar. I was there for a conference and the meeting facilities are really good. The food at this location is fantastic. They also have a functional workout facility that is mostly cardiovascular equipment. This Hyatt does have an indoor pool and whirlpool. The rooms are mini-suites that have a desk, sleeper/sofa, chair, and television that spins to be viewed from the living room area or while in bed. The walls in this location are thin. I could hear lots of conversations in other rooms. The secret would be to talk while in the bedroom portion of the suite. The only other thing that was less than what I needed was that there are no places to eat or shop within walking distance, and the Hyatt doesn't have a gift store. The hotel does have a shuttle service and has a constant supply of taxi's at your disposal. I would stay here again.

We just returned from Chicago after staying at the Hyatt Deerfield. I have really been around to nice hotels, and I must say that the Hyatt does really well for itself. We stayed there because they are Six Flags Great America's premiere hotel partner. That means that Six Flags and the Hyatt have a deal where you can get a normal room with 2 six flags tickets for only 149 dollars!! That's a great deal considering that normal six flags tickets cost 45-55 dollars.

The rooms were almost like suites. You enter the door, and see a 'room' (I'll explain the '--' shortly) with a couch, a desk, and a few chairs. The couch faces an entertainment center with a depth of the wall that divides the 'living room' and the 'bedroom.' Really, the room is just one big room with a small dividing wall on the back. But what the hotel does is it puts an entertainment center with a TV that can swivel to face both the living room AND the beds, so it seems like you have to spacious rooms. The feeling that creates is really home-y and nice. The bathroom included very nice toilitries (citrus and lavendar work well for me). The beds were very comfortable.

The swimming pool is small, but the health center with excersize machines was really big, and included many pieces of excersize equipment.

The morning breakfast buffet was VERY expensive for the weekday that we were there (16 dollars!!!!). While I have paid that occasionally to have those breakfast buffets, I have done that only when at the Ritz Carleton or Disney where you EXPECT those prices. The Starbucks offered some pretty crappy looking muffins. Fortunately, there was a Starbucks about a mile and a half down the road (take a left from the hotel), which had a better and CHEAPER assortment of breakfast items.

Overall, it was a great stay because it offered GREAT prices on the rooms, and the rooms themselves were very spacious and comfortable. While not within walking distance of the six flags property, it was only a 20 minute drive, and the hotel itself was cheaper and nicer than the big chain hotels closer to the Six Flags property.

“My Hyatt Stay Was Great!”

Just letting you know that we had a very pleasant stay at the Hyatt Deerfield. They had our tickets for Six Flags ready early that morning even though check in wasn't until the afternoon. They were very friendly and heplful. We asked for restaurant information and they let us know who had free delivery. Overall, we were pleased with how clean the Hotel was and how friendly the staff was. The best part of our stay was how well we slept. We asked what the brand of mattress it was and they said they would have the manager check into it and let us know. The manager called us the very next day to give us the information. We really didn't think they would call us back, but they did ! We will definitely go back !

We stayed at the Deerfield Hyatt with two small kids. The room's layout allowed for two cribs in the sitting area and we still had room to hang out on the sofa. The hotel's size makes it more luxurious than other suburban hotels and the services are a nice bonus- we used the restaurant, bar, pool and business center. The hotel was pretty empty which probably explains how we got a room for $69 a night!

“Nice hotel-could have been cleaner”

Hyatt Deerfield

The Hyatt Deerfield was my first stay at a Hyatt property. I really liked the generous size of the room and the decor. This worked well for us because we were traveling with 2 children and we don't like to feel cramped.

We did feel that the room and hallway areas of the hotel were not cleaned the way they should be. I think that housekeeping cut corners when cleaning the room, like not properly cleaning the toilet or sink area every day (we were there for 4 nights).

We also had to repeatedly ask for extra towels, they only provided enough for 2 people. We also had to ask twice for extra pillows. They did bring them after the second request.

This hotel seemed to be geared more for the business traveler. We saw very few families here and we stayed in August.

We did get a great rate for this hotel by using the AAA discount. We did get good value for the amount of money that we spent. Had I paid full price for a room, I may not have been as pleased.
