While the anticipation of goin to Glen Prairie was great I as so disappointed.
Seated promptly we were given menus and the wine list. Deciding on a bottle of wine we then waited for anyone to take our order. And waited etc...We asked about specials for the evening and were told from the waitress that there were no specials because the kichen was so busy preparing for Sunday brunch the next day....really? What about the people that are looking for a great meal tonight? Ordered an appetizer and entree at the same time. One soup arrived before the appetizer and was returned letting the runner know it was to be served with dinner. Asparagus and Goat cheese flat bread was excellent. We then waited 45 minutes for dinner. The two Salmon entrees were sent back. Still inedible when returned. They were about 1/4 inch thick and cooked for about 30 minutes. Hockey pucks....Two entrees were salads, Cobb and Ceasar, neither of which great. Dressing was very "vinegary", odd taste. So, out of 6 entress two were a success. The sandwich and Risotto. They comped the Salmon and threw in desserts.
Silverware was not replaced when removed, water was not replenished until asked, bread was not replaced until asked, not offered, dirty dishes were not removed until asked. Perhaps just a bad night? Who knows? I will not be returning to find out. I suggest the reviewers for Chicago Magazine rethink this choice....
