We stayed here for 1 night to have a Woodfield shopping weekend. Check-in was fast and friendly; Garrett, the evening front desk clerk that night, was very polite. After going up to our room, we found the a/c unit was running, but not cooling. I phoned the front desk and Garrett was up in less than 5 minutes to personally escort us to a new room with a normal/great working a/c unit in the room. He has very helpful and kind, yet professional. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. The breakfast buffet was nice; great selection of cereals, eggs, sausage, toast, fruits, yogurt, waffles, french toast and various breads and pastries. There is also plenty of juice/coffee/milk selections. The food was fresh, tasty and the kitchen/breakfast staff seemed to pay very good attention to what needed replentished. The entire staff all in all was very efficient! My daughter enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It's a good size pool area with plenty of seating. The parking area is well lit with plenty of parking spaces. This hotel is easy to find; right near IKEA. Woodfield mall is only a few traffic lights away along with plenty of alternate food choices such as Olive Garden & TGI Fridays. The hotel is in a very safe area. I felt totally comfortable here and will most definelty stay here again next time I'm in the area! Well done!!

My wife was on business in Schaumberg for 2 weeks... I was obviously concerned about her safety and comfort. Amerisuites fit the bill in every respect. Clean, comfortable, good food, lovely and helpful staff... nice room, walking distance to the mall and IKEA, It couldn'[t have been better. Front desk staff answered my long-distance calls almost immediately every time.

“Very nice, and clean.”

Hyatt Place Schamburg

We stayed here one night, due to it being so close to the Cubs Roundtripper pickup. Went to Wrigley Field that night. It is located next to Woodfield Mall and lots of other shopping. We checked in early with no problem. The room was very clean and the beds were great. There were two rooms. One with two queen beds and the other had a sofa sleeper and kitchen area with frig., micr and a sink. Bathroom was great. They have a free hot breakfast buffet the was perfect. Favorite meal for our family so we are picky on this. The area is very nice, with a pond out front. My kids loved watching the ducks. Our plans took us futher north the next night, so we only stayed here the one night. Next year we are planning two Cubs games, so we are going to stay two maybe three night at this hotel. The only problem that we had was the one TV in the center of both rooms. We have three kids, so a TV in each room would have been nice, but we lived. They also give Hyatt points when you stay here.

I usually stay at the Hawthorn in Schaumburg, which is very similar on the surface – but I found nearly everything at the Amerisuites to be just a bit higher quality.

The rooms (suites) are spacious, even with 2 queen beds. The kitchen is basically a fridge and microwave with basic utensils, but it’s perfect for a longer business trip. There was a coffeemaker, of course.

The bed was comfy. The blanket is covered in sheets (duvet cover?) which I assume will be washed. Perhaps it’s an illusion, but I much prefer that to the typically questionable blanket or bedspread in some places.

I’ll have to take off one star for the shower. I like the rounded shower curtain bar that keeps the curtain off your body while you’re in (small) tub, but the water pressure was the usual pathetic drizzle. Couldn’t adjust the shower head in any direction. Clean, but showing some wear. I did like having the sink/vanity area outside of the bathroom, though.

I got a bit of noise in the evenings, but that may have been due to my room’s location near the elevators on the 2nd floor. The AC worked, also with the usual whooshing noise.

There was at least one person at the reception desk whenever I went downstairs, and always friendly. There’s a free shuttle service to take you to the nearby offices or the mall. Throughout my stay, they were on time.

There’s also wireless internet access – free – and a shared computer in the lobby area for the guests’ use. I didn’t get a chance to try the pool.

There’s a fairly extensive breakfast buffet, covering everything from cereal to bacon/eggs to waffles. In the afternoon, there are also hot snacks and occasionally drinks. The food was good quality.

All in all, I was very pleased with my stay and expect to return.

Was here on business for five days.

Check in:
Not a problem. Very easy, very fast. They even gave me a wireless bridge to use since my laptop didn’t have a wireless card.

Room:
Looked good. Nice, and big, but since it was just me, it was almost too big.. Kitchenette was nice, bathroom was good and vanity area was nice also. The TV was in the middle of the bedroom/living area. It wasn’t the greatest. The remote needed batteries, which I’m sure the desk would have given if I felt like calling. Hot water and shower pressure wasn’t all that great during the morning hours either. The bed wasn’t all that comfortable, but it was newer. It just wasn’t to my extreme liking.. Nor to my dislike..

Environmental:
This was during the hot streak of August when the temps hit 100+ around the area and I’ll tell you what, the air conditioner couldn’t keep the room cool. It was bad. I didn’t call because it wasn’t broken; it just wasn’t able to keep the room cool to my liking. Once the rain hit and the temps broke, the air conditioner started to work normal.

Freebies and staff:
Good decent food, even some dinners with free beer! The manager and staff were extremely nice..I would give them a solid A in hospitality. I had my room cleaned every day and it was done properly. The wireless internet was something to be desired, but served its purpose. The Movie selection was good. A decent amount of restaurants are around. The parking was average.

Pool:
Normal and fine.

Over All:
It’s a decent hotel and I would stay there again. 88% or a High B on the standard grading scale.

    • Liked — The kitchenette keep dining expenses low.
    • Disliked — Everytime I went to have Lunch in my room, it was being cleaned. After the third time, the crew caught on!
    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — It was a decent stay.. no hidden quirks!
