I stayed at the Hyatt Place in Fort Wayne on August 3rd. The hotel was very nice and modern. I loved the decor and all of the extra's the hotel offered. The room was amazing. However, I was very upset when I learned that the hotel charged me for my stay. Since, I already purchased my room thru hotwire. It has now been a week since the hotel charged me for my room. And, I still am not able to get a credit. So the hotel is nice but very, very, slow to credit their customers. And, don't bother calling their "customer service" all they do is email the GM of the hotel.

When we first arrived here, we were excited. The room was modern, but immediately we found that we had no phone in our room. Then at night, when we went to use the fitness center, we found that it was closed for renovation. There was no mention of any renovation when we booked the room on their website. We asked the management for a discount on the expensive room rate and they refused saying that they were providing an "alternative" at a college gym a few miles a way, so they couldn't. I don't know many people who want to spend $140 dollars for a room only to find out that they have to drive down to the nearest college in a snowstorm to use the facilities. We plan to come to Fort Wayne a few more times for house hunting, but will definitely never stay here again.

I am having my bathrooms redone and I work nights, so I thought staying at a hotel would be easier on my sleep pattern. Staying at this hotel was the wrong way to go. This hotel stay was terrible. The outside and foyer looked fine but the room itself was terrible. The carpet was filthy the bathroom had mold and mildew in it and the room smelled awful. I stayed because I didn't want to waste the money that I had spent. I was stuck. This was considered a 2 1/2 star hotel, this should have been rank 1 or less. I booked thru priceline and got this hotel for 30.00 a day thinking I had gotten a steal because the regular price was 90.00 or higher depending on the day you stay. What I got was truly a rotten egg.

I recently stayed here when my house had some mechanical problems. I actually stayed in the hotel in 1999 (when it was relatively new) on my wedding night as well, but it had a different name then.
I reserved my room on priceline for $34 and checked in 20 minutes after making the reservation. The room I received was spacious but the furnishings were worn. The sofa had a huge stain on the seats of both cushions and the carpet had numerous stains. Everything was in working order and I even visited the outdoor pool which was fine.
The next morning's breakfast buffet was very sparse with scrambled eggs with sausage paties, make-your-own waffles, and pastries along with cold cereals. More than one of the milk, juice and coffe dispensers had out-of-order signs on them.
My overall impression is that this hotel needs some refurbishing. I can't complain about the value as I felt I got my monies worth for a much-needed night of good sleep.
