We stayed for 3 nights in Rumah Kita and did 2 excursions with them. The hotel is more like a home, with only 4 rooms, on beautiful grounds with nice swimming pool. The food is cooked by the staff on request and was very tasteful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We did 2 excursions with them that were just excellent! We went on a trip to the IJen volcano - spectacular! We also took the 2 day trip to Sukamade, a nature reserve. We saw lost of monkeys and hornbills on the way and at night we saw 2 big turtles laying eggs on the beach! We slept in a small local village in the nature reserve, where they also have plantations and in interesting old factory from the colonial times. Accommodation there was very basic. All in all it was a wonderful and authentic experience. One of the best we had in our 2 month trip.
Only 2 negative remarks. We came by public transport and had a bit of trouble finding the place. The do have a sign at the main road, but only visible when you come from west-java (but we came from Bali). The other thing is that there are a few mosques in the area, so you will wake up a few times at night....other then that we slept well.
