Our company always chooses the Hilton Garden Inn whenever we do business travel (if available) so I did not hesitate to book my room at the HGI in West Lafayette, IN while in town representing our company at a career fair at Purdue. The hotel itself is seemingly nice and in a good area - the parking is tricky as you have to pay $3/day for it (no big deal) and it's in the garage behind the actual hotel facility. As far as my actual stay went, it was fine. It was only one night so how much could go wrong? Well, the next morning I went downstairs to grab some coffee (and noticed that this HGI did not provide a continental breakfast like others) purchased some food and headed back up to my room. I used the business center along the way, very easy to use and convenient. However, upon returning to my room I noticed that there were a few small BUGS in my bed!! Ugh - this is the first time this has happened to me and upon closer inspection of the sheets was upset to find that they appeared dirty (wierd spots that didn't seem like the usual "wear and tear"). I'm sure it's mental but I cannot stop itching everywhere and I plan to contact the hotel manager since I was put off by the discovery. My co-worker informed me that he was grossed out by his bed because there were several hairs on the sheets - this was prior to me telling him about my story. I know the HGI is usually dependable, which is why we stay there, but this just made me feel wierd. We will probably stay here again if we return to Purdue but I will closely (very!) closely inspect my bed before I sleep. I attached a picture of said bug!

First I would like to apologize that you had a less than perfect stay with us here at the Hilton Garden Inn/West Lafayette. Your comments are very concerning to me and I wish you would have reported these issues to us immediately or at least at check out because we take the cleanliness of our hotel very seriously. Anytime you have an issue at our hotel or any hotel, please report your issues to the manager. We truly do want to know because we cannot correct an issue that we do not know about and your satisfaction is important to us!
I have since inspected the room personally and found nothing of concern and have discussed the situation with the housekeeping department so if there are training issues we get them corrected immediately. Our hotel scores above 97% for cleanliness in all of our inspections and take great pride in this, so when we see an issue we correct it on the spot.
I am happy that you for the most part enjoyed your stay and that you mentioned that you would stay with us again in the future. I appreciate the fact that you will give us another opportunity to prove to you that the satisfaction of our guests is our number one priority.
