I have visited Iowa several times, but never Cedar Rapids. When I arrived at the Clarion Hotel in Cedar Rapids I was immediately impressed with the lobby. A very modern, warm, and inviting welcome to visitors.

Dawn at the front desk was especially friendly and after checking me in she asked me to call on her should I need further assistance. I was impressed that she was willing to take personal responsibility for any needs I may have encountered during my stay.

Each morning I received personal LIVE wakeup calls from the guest service staff. Each time I called the front desk my needs were addressed immediately. The front desk staff knew me by name after staying just a day or two, and always addressed me as such. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who seeks that extra bit of attention from a friendly and welcoming staff.

Several hotels have a great staff, but the employees at the Clarion Hotel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa went above and beyond the call of duty! In addition to being very welcoming and friendly, the front desk staff has the honesty of a saint!

Upon checkout I paid cash. I had several $100 bills in an envelope. I paid my bill and accidentally left the envelope on the front desk when I departed! Too much luggage and thinking about a presentation I had to give that afternoon...I managed to forget the envelope.

The hotel did not have my phone number, but they knew which company I was in town to work with. They quickly called the company, let them know I had left $300 in cash at the front desk, and they arranged to get my money back to me very quickly. PHENOMENAL!

An amazing staff....and the property is great, too!

The best part of the hotel is the lobby; relatively bright and modern. The staff were friendly and the place was clean but it could do with an update. The room was okay, but the fake marble bathroom suite was straight out of the 1970's. The restaurant was also about 30 years behind the standard, all dark veneers and plastic seat covers. It offers a "breakfast service", but in truth only two hot items are available at the buffet: scrambled egg and sausage one day; scrambled egg and bacon the next day. I'll be back to Cedar Rapids, but not to the Clarion.

About a month ago, a friend of mine got married in Cedar Rapids, IA. She had blocked rooms at various hotels but I chose to stay at the Clarion Hotel. What a wonderful experience we had. The hotel sent the shuttle to pick us up at the airport and the bellman was very friendly and personable. The lobby area was beautiful, the front desk staff was very welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Everything about our stay was great, including the food in the restaurant. Even their pool was exceptional and it's open 24 hours which was so nice after the reception. We didn't have any problems whatsoever with our visit and would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone traveling to Cedar Rapids.
