I really loved the way the rooms were decorated and you can tell that everything is pretty new. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean, although the duvet had either stains or dirt on it that were pretty evident. I always take those top comforters or covers off anyway, so no big deal. There was a fridge in the room, which was great. The shower in my room was a little odd. I have had a shower similiar in Europe but never here in the United States. There was no shower curtain or door, but because of the way it was configured, you didn't need one, so kind of neat actually.
The breakfast area was nicely kept and you could tell that the ladies that worked in the breakfast area took pride in it.
The reasons for the 3 stars are that the walls are extremely thin and I was very disappointed in the response from the front desk due to my noise issue.
When we checked in, there were a ton of kids milling around the reception area. My first thought was, uh oh! I asked the lady at the front desk if we could be in a different area than them, mainly due to the fact that my parents were with me and are extremely sensitive to noise at night! She was very nice and explained that they were a church group (and i have nothing against church groups!) and were all over the hotel but that they were very polite and had not had any issues with them. She went on to say that if we DID have any problems with them being quiet later in the evening, that we could call the front desk and they would handle it immediately because they knew which rooms the group leaders were in.
I noticed that when we got into our rooms, you could hear doors slamming up and down the hallway and kids running up and down very well from inside the room when the air switched off. It was very evident that the walls were paper thin, but I wasn't concerned until about 11:00pm, when a lot of them must have returned from somewhere outside the hotel. It was just nuts! Finally about 11:30, I called the front desk and requested that they ask them if they could get settled. It was a different lady at the front desk and I was pretty upset with her response. She totally brushed me off and said that they had just gotten back to the hotel and would be settling down shortly. That was it. It went on until 12:00 or 12:30. This was in addition to being able to hear whoever was in the next room talking and their tv very well, but I had already complained once, to no avail, so I wasn't about to call down again.
The kids were just being kids, but really, if you are going to stay here, just be aware that you can hear just about everything going on in the rooms next to you (at normal volumes, not yelling or anything) and out in the hall. It is obviously either a new property or newly renovated, so it is a shame that the walls are so thin. For example, my dad, who was in the room next to mine, called my room about 11:15 to see if i could call down to the front desk, and i could hear him talking through the wall!
If you keep the air down pretty low so that it runs alot, it is less of a problem, because it does help to muffle the noise.
