My husband and I stayed here as a last minute, late night stop on our way to Denver. It was very late and this was one of the last hotel rooms we could find in the Colby area. We had to take a smoking room, though we do not smoke. Neither my husband nor I slept much that night, as we were terribly uncomfortable. The odor of stale smoke and an aging room saturated with tobacco tar was disgusting and, though it was cold outside, we had to partially open a window all night to get any relief. The walls looked tar-stained, and the bathroom counter as well as the bed linens had visible cigarette damage. I was concerned that leaving our bags in the room would cause the smell to seep into my clothing and luggage. Obviously, I cannot comment on the condition of the non-smoking rooms, but the state of the room we occupied was so poor, I would not expect a smoker to be comfortable there, either. I would never recommend this place based on our experience.
