This is a beautiful, high ceilinged historical home that has rooms on the 2nd floor and an Italian restaurant on the first; a wine/beer bar is in the nearby restored barn. It all looks pretty, but there are a couple of issues that detracted from our experience. The common area on the 2nd floor - where the rooms are - echoes every noise that occurs there. So guests that returned late from the wine bar woke us up immediately when they returned - seriously we could hear every word they said so clearly, as well as every footstep and movement. 2nd issue is the steep curving stairs up to the 2nd floor. They're lovely to look at, but difficult to take luggage up, and, as coffee is only available on the first floor, a poor woman carrying coffee fell down and dropped everything on the way to her room - ouch!! 3rd thing is the focus on rules - we stay in a lot of B&Bs internally and I haven't seen such a focus on rules before. From the home page of their website you'll see lots of text on all the rules and how they'll charge extra if you arrive outside of the 3-6pm check-in times (amazing!), and how much it'll cost if you use candles in the room. Then they made us initial these same rules upon check-in! Just really over the top. So pretty place, just several things - like morning coffee, a focus on rules like we're teenagers, and quiet! - make it someplace I would not recommend. Cute town, but surely there are better places to stay.
