We stayed in the two-room suite. Very nice, but found that the rooms contained a lot of trinkets and knick-knacks of all sorts on every surface possible. Interesting to look at, but overwhelming. The rec room was nice, well stocked with board games, a pool table, and large screen tv (but animal heads on the walls, toys, photos, posters, a popcorn maker all in the same room). Beds were comfy and the furnishings were quaint. The hosts were very nice and accomodating. The inn's history and decor is beautiful.
I was disappointed that they did not offer a gourmet breakfast as other reviewers have raved about. When I called to make the reservation, the host even said that they 'go all out' for breakfast, but it wasn't so. During breakfast, the host explained that they found that most guests were overwhelmed with a southern breakfast with ham and eggs, etc, so they have changed the menu to be more 'northern' consisting of yogurt, fruit, pancakes (waffles, french toast on other days), and eggs.
The library is right behind the inn. Grocery store across the street.
