Hotel is now a Doubletree Suites. I had booked our group of 12 rooms thru group sales. All rooms were supposed to be 2 doubles with a pull out sofa bed in the living room portion. Most of us got the rooms we booked and the ones that didn't were moved the next afternoon after some urging to the front desk. We were lucky. Other groups were not and ended up with junior suites which are just two doubles with a refrigerator. Also, there are no rollaways. So if you're counting on that extra bed, you may not get it if you check in late. The suites are partitioned with doors that go 3/4 of the way to the ceiling. They are NOT sound proof. It was nice for the privacy though. The pool was closed for two days while we were there because of a chemical imbalance. While it didn't affect us that much, other guests were very upset. The location is great with an Applebee's, Panerra, and Japanese steakhouse all in the same parking lot. Numerous other restaurants are within 1/4 mile. Also easy access to Route 4. Hotel staff did a good job as they were transitioning their system to Hilton and they were sold out as well. A lot for them to handle and they did it well.

The worst thing about this hotel is that it is seriously style-deficient - very very dated. The service was spotty though every single person I had contact with (except my chamber maid) was absolutely sweet, delightful, friendly and helpful. The decor is old but not too beat-up. The rooms ARE large but in the standard - not Executive - suite the living room is dark and the furniture and fixtures show their age. In my room : wrinkled hunter green carpet; water-stained and scratched wood desk; worn but exceedingly large jacuzzi tub; thread-bare (literally) sheets; comforter cover with cigarette burns (on the underside!); old, scratchy and very tattered towels; 1 small window in the bedroom and none in the living room (and no lights over 1/2 the room). The tacky lobby had fake flowers and fake plants and a dim atrium space with just a couple of small skylights. There were problems with the extra charges - overcharges on 2 room service deliveries and a laundry ticket. After 1/2 an hour of research they apologetically issued credits without ever explaining why the charges were different than what was published. Housekeeping did not vacuum for days, the supplies were not replenished, towels were at a premium (I did not have hand towels; when I asked a half-dozen were delivered - mats, washcloths and bath size - no hand towels). I like the location, the outside of the hotel is pretty and parking is a breeze, and while the housekeeping staff was lax the place was NOT dirty.

We stayed for one night (Sunday) while passing through. They had the reservation and room all set. The style of the hotel is like an Embassy Suites with a spacious lobby full of plants and fountains and many of the rooms overlook the lobby. Rooms were spacious and clean and the hot tub was very nice. The bedroom part of the suite was nicely separated from the livingroom portion. Bathrooms were roomy enough for two at the sink. The room would be perfect for families or couples. There was a refrigerator, coffee machine etc all in good working order. The front desk was helpful and frinedly. The dining area was very cosy and well decorated. The location is also very good with many restaurants and a mall very nearby (5 minute ride). Parking was plentiful and free. The hotel is tucked in off the road behind a strip mall so it may be hard to find the first time. We will make the hotel a regular stop for any future trip to the area.

“Dirty, Terrible Hotel”

Doubletree Guest Suites Lexington

My company is part of Starwood, so I had to stay there for business. This was easily the worst hotel experience I ever had. I could not wait to get home and take a long, hot shower using bleach water. Dirty, gross, dingy, musty. That's all I can say. Oh, the bird poop all over (the outside of) my window -- PRICELESS.

The only good thing is that you can easily walk to Panerra or Applebees. There's no way I was going to order room service...no way.
