My husband and I spent a Valentine's weekend here and booked a romance package with chocolates, roses and champagne provided. We had a delightful stay and cannot say one negative thing about the place. We were happy with our room, the Shaker Suite. It had a comfortable Queen bed, Shaker style furniture (writing desk, armoire) a huge bathroom and a cozy sitting room with love seat and TV. The room has an internet port as well. It is in the front of the house overlooking slightly busy Broadway, and you do hear some traffic noise. I didn't find it too distracting, but if you are a light sleeper, the suites in the back of the house facing the gardens and alley might be quieter.
The house has been beautifully restored and is in great condition. It's not overly Victorian with lots of doilies and such common to many places. The rooms and halls are large and the flow is good. The lobby in back is huge and the house features large stunning works of art by painter Federico Pizzurro. http://www.federicopizzurro.com/ The dining room and kitchen are also spacious and there's even an elevator! It's a perfect setup for small weddings, parties or meetings. Innkeeper Anton is charming; a wonderful host. He makes eggs to order at breakfast, delicious fruit bowls, homemade breads and muffins and other goodies. There are cookies and beverages always available to guests. I'm sure it would be lovely in good weather; there's a large patio in back with gardens. It's convenient to all downtown venues and has private parking in the back. A real gem in downtown Lexington!
