Race Horses, Gardens and History, oh my! A stay in Lexington, KY is a delightful American adventure. Having excellent lodging adds to the experience. I have stayed at the Lyndon House 3 times. Each time I selected a different room, and have never been disappointed. The house is beautifully decorated, and the garden is top notch. One can easily spend the week relaxing on the back porch writing that great American novel. But if you like attractions and history, the innkeeper is well versed in both, and can set you on the proper path. Terry is a warm and genial fellow. He is not only a great conversationalist, but a terrific chef as well. Be sure to ask for the recipe for Keeneland Eggs, or as I prefer to call them : Eggs al la Anton. Lyndon House is one of Lexington's stately grand dames. Enjoy!

“Great Experience”

Lyndon House Bed & Breakfast

We spent the evening of 3/14/2008 at Lyndon House with four other couples from our dinner group. The facility was clean, well furnished and fit in wonderfully in a recently revitilized section of downtown Lexington, KY.
We could tell that management had given an extraordinary amount of attention to detail beginning with the grounds, carrying through to the sitting, serving and dining areas, all the way through to the guest suites.
The facility was not "cutesy". It was elegant.
The hospitality extended to us and the quality of service was beyond all we could ever have expected.

I felt like I was staying at a funeral home. The undertaker did not make us feel welcome. Lexington is an amazing city that I will definetly visit again. I won't be staying at The Lyndon House. We intentionally spent as little time at The Lyndon House as possible because of the strange vibe and cold stares that came from the innkeeper.

My husband and I spent a Valentine's weekend here and booked a romance package with chocolates, roses and champagne provided. We had a delightful stay and cannot say one negative thing about the place. We were happy with our room, the Shaker Suite. It had a comfortable Queen bed, Shaker style furniture (writing desk, armoire) a huge bathroom and a cozy sitting room with love seat and TV. The room has an internet port as well. It is in the front of the house overlooking slightly busy Broadway, and you do hear some traffic noise. I didn't find it too distracting, but if you are a light sleeper, the suites in the back of the house facing the gardens and alley might be quieter.

The house has been beautifully restored and is in great condition. It's not overly Victorian with lots of doilies and such common to many places. The rooms and halls are large and the flow is good. The lobby in back is huge and the house features large stunning works of art by painter Federico Pizzurro. http://www.federicopizzurro.com/ The dining room and kitchen are also spacious and there's even an elevator! It's a perfect setup for small weddings, parties or meetings. Innkeeper Anton is charming; a wonderful host. He makes eggs to order at breakfast, delicious fruit bowls, homemade breads and muffins and other goodies. There are cookies and beverages always available to guests. I'm sure it would be lovely in good weather; there's a large patio in back with gardens. It's convenient to all downtown venues and has private parking in the back. A real gem in downtown Lexington!
