GETTING THERE
A side note, the road signs to get you to this hotel sometimes promote it as "Hilton Suites" which can be confusing but Hilton owns Homewood Suites so its the same place.
REPEAT MISTAKE
We've stayed here before and liked it so much that we came back. But we forgot about the one concern we had (getting old, I guess!) and got caught in the same trap.
THE ELEVATOR
If you're a light sleeper, don't stay on the first or second floor - rooms 102, 202, 104, 204, 106, 206, 108, 208, 110, 210, 112, 212 - because of elevator noise. The equipment that runs the elevators is located in a room (next to 102) adjacent to the front elevator off the main lobby. When someone uses the elevator at night, these rooms shake or you can hear the engine pulling the elevator up and down. Our first visit we stayed in 102. This time we stayed the first night in 108 and it bothered the heck out of me. I don't consider myself to be a light sleeper but in fairness, my wife didn't hear it.
THEY GAVE US A DIFFERENT ROOM
Upon request, they happily gave us another room on the outside of the back of hotel for the remaining two nights but we found out that the super hiway and the train tracks are right outside. There is a 4:30am train. But having lived in the city, I got used to that easier than the elevator.
BUT THAT'S THE ONLY PROBLEM
Having said that, absolutely everything else about this place is wonderful. Free breakfasts are very good. The business center is handy. The service at front desk pleasant and the rooms very clean.
BOTTOM LINE
If you can get a room away from the elevator... its a great place to say.
