We arrived after a long day's drive, so we were very tired. We noticed the guests in line ahead of us were complaining that their keys did not work. The desk clerk told them she would walk with them to their rooms and use the master key to let them in. Then it was our turn and we were told they had no reservation for us (we had booked the room a day before via Expedia). Fortunately, they had available rooms, so we were given a key and we all went to the rooms with the desk clerk and her master key.
Of course our key did not work either, so she let us in with the master key....and there was another guest already in the room, in bed!
The desk clerk arranged for a second room for us, and again the key wouldn't work. She let us in and as we settled in, we discovered someone's clothing hanging in the closet! Back to the front desk.
Now the clerk upgrades us to a nicer room and gives us a coupon for a free breakfast. Again the key would not work! She let us in with the master key and together we all checked to make sure the room belonged to no one. It didn't, so we stayed. My wife was fearful the clerk would let someone come in on us later that night, but that didn't happen. The room was very nice and clean, but the night desk clerk was clearly not trained well.
We would have left to look for another place if it hadn't been so far away from everything else and so late.
The complimentary breakfast was also poor...service was incredibly slow, and they were out of many items on the menu.
The place was beautiful, and the room was very nice. I reluctantly give this place 2 dots, even though the experience was so stressful, I want to give it 1 dot. Good luck with the staff if you stay here.
