We arrived on the night of 'the' Valentines Storm. It took us six hours to travel from Boston Airport to Bethel - and it was well worth it! Great snow and a wonderful Inn!
We were astonished to see negative reviews on this site about this inn. We found the staff very friendly and efficient. Food was exceptional and our accommodation extremely clean and comfortable.
I have travelled extensively in the U.S. staying in various hotels and Inns and found this establishment to be one of the best.
Many thanks to the Innkeepers, Bill and Nancy and their Staff for a memorable stay.

“Loved the Inn!”

Our family of 4 stayed at the Sudbury Inn over Feb 2007 vacation. We were looking for a pet friendly place near Sunday River Ski Resort and found the Sudbury Inn.

It was wonderful. We were booked into a 2 room suite in the carriage house. The carriage house was a separate building from the main inn which is exactly what we were looking for. We have a black Lab and were concerned that the various noises in the main Inn would cause him to bark or disrupt the other guests. The suite was very clean, comfortable and very homey. Having our dog with us was no problem, either for us or for our hosts, Nancy & Bill.

In addition, a full breakfast was included in our rate. The breakfast was off the menu, no continental breakfast here, and was delicious.

We were extremely pleased with the Inn and would re-book there during any season.

Just returned from a fabulous stay at the Sudbury Inn. Accommodations were great for the affordable price and with breakfast included you can't beat it. Food is always delicious in the Pub as well as the Inn. I highly recommend the duck. We last stayed at the Inn in winter of 2005 and our waitress Donna remembered us as did the Pub manager Joyce! All of the staff are helpful and friendly. The skiing was fantastic. Can't wait to return.

“First Time Bed and Breakfast Stay - A Wonderful Experience!”

We stayed at the Sudbury Inn Bed and Breakfast Sept 25th, 2006. Since I was unable to climb stairs, they placed us in their Carriage House. These were very spacious and clean rooms! Beautifully decorated and very homey!

We ate in the Sudbury Pub....where again since I was unable to so down the stairs, arrangements were made for me to enter thru their kitchen! They went over and beyond to make our visit in both the Pub and Inn a great experience.

I had their delicious and out of this world Sweet Potato Clam Bisque and Seafood dinner served with rice. My husband had the Mussels (tons of them) for an appetizer and the Blackened Salmon which he really raved about!

We had our breakfast served in the spacious and beautifully decorated dining room of the Main House the next morning. Again a delcious breakfast and very attentive and courteous waitress.

Thanks to the Chef for the wonderful meals and to the owners of the Inn for a great experience.

I would definitely recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone traveling through the area or who is just looking for a great experience. I would plan to stay a couple more days if and when we are in the area again! This was my first experience staying in a Bed and Breakfast Inn and it was a wonderful one thanks to all efforts of the employees and owners.

“Not so Good”

The room was very small and sloped significantly to the front of the inn. No room to really lay out your wet ski clothes so they can be dry for the next day. The room was a step down from the hallway, which required me to duck as I entered the room (I am 6'4"). I did hit my head on the doorway once. The walls hadn't been painted in quite some time and were cracked and peeling in spots. There were plenty of cobwebs in the corners too. The bathroom was very cramped and felt like it was stuffed in a closet (which might explain why there was no closet in the room). The room was extremely cold. There wasn't a thermostat in the room. When I complained to the front desk, they apologized and explained that the thermostat for the first and second floors was behind the front desk and they had turned it down so their pub guests wouldn't be overheated. Speaking of the Pub, we could clearly hear the activities from our room. I suppose we should have just visited the Pub and avoided our room, but we were there to ski, not revel in a bar. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The parking lot was always jammed full of pub visitors, so it was difficult to get a spot. Some might call it unpretentious. We would just call it a bad place to stay
