We visited just overnight but would have loved to stay longer. Had a harbor front room with views of the boats docked there. And fishing boats going in and out. It was an easy walk to downtown. There were several restaurants very close and others a short walk over the boardwalk. Will return.

Boothbay Harbor was recommended to us by friends as a place we should visit while in Maine. I found Brown's Wharf Inn through Tripadvisor. Both were terrific finds. The room was clean and comfortable and despite the huge yacht that was moored at the wharf and visible outside of our room blocking the views we loved our stay at the Inn. Our only complaint was that although the rooms are all nonsmoking, the balconies are not and we had to close our door and turn on the airconditioner despite the pleasant evening because of our neighbor smoking cigars on the balcony and it was floating into our room. On our whalewatching tour we learned that many celebrities choose Brown's to stay at when they visit Boothbay, we certainly will again as well.

We've stayed at Brown's Wharf several times and always find it to be spotless and beautiful. The owner takes great care to ensure that the flowers adorning the property are healthy and well appointed. Sitting on the balcony of a water-view room is so relaxing. The foot-bridge into town is very close. Food is fabulous - breakfast as well as dinner; dine inside or out. Always free coffee and newspapers each morning in the common area - very family oriented. A plus is that it is right next to the lobster co-op which has the BEST lobster rolls in Maine! Try Brown's Wharf - you'll be back!

We just returned from our stay at Brown's Wharf and we are still talking about it. We stayed in a room on the second floor on the side of the hotel. We had a large balcony with three chairs and an excellent view of the harbor. We were situated right over the water. The view was great.
The room was large with a king size bed. The entire property was spotless. In fact my wife described it as "sparkling". There was a small refrigerator in the room.
The dining room was closed the evening we were at the hotel(Tuesdays), however we were only about 200 yards from the Boothbay Harbor Lobster Pound (Best lobster we had on our trip through Maine - not fancy, just lobster steamed and served on picnic tables overlooking the harbor).
We had breakfast in the Inn's dining room (not included in the price) and it was very good.
We wished we had another night to spend at Brown's but we had flights to catch home since this was at the end of our trip.

Stayed here for one night with my wife. We had a corner room. Really beautiful views of this pretty harbor and its lobster boats and sailboats. Room was clean and pleasantly decorated. Nice balconies but none are private. Restaurant was closed for the season, but the Inn provided a very good continental breakfast.
