My girlfriend and I have stayed there twice now. We like it very much. Great location (if you want to be in town). As others have commented, the valet parking is a treat. (The valets' service is superbly quick and friendly.)

Overall the property is nicely appointed. Nice guest rooms. Relatively spacious and comforatble. Clean. Terrific outdoor decks. Many guest rooms have wonderful views of the harbor. (The harbor is really filled with boats. This is a boating town!)

During the daytime, It may seem busy outside your room on the sidewalks of town. But late at night it's quiet and pleasant. The harbor looks nice at night too.

We love the restaurant. The food is wonderful. For the eyes, you get a floor-to-ceiling view of the harbor -- and you're sitting right in the harbor. The service in the restaurant was not as friendly as it could be, however. And sometimes they were slow to return to our table. But did you come for fast food with a smile, or delicious bayside cuisine with a lovely harbor to sit and gaze at?

“Great location, great views, terrible restaurant”

The hotel is in a great location, had some fears about maybe it being noisey in the evenings - but no problems at all.
The valet parking personnel were really great - the same can be said for the reception staff, most helpful.
The restaurant has fantastic views, but that is the only positive. The hostess walked by us at least three times, no smile, no good-morning - nothing! The restaurant has many tables - I'd say only about six were occupied, we waited ages for breakfast - nothing fancy - just toast. Other tables were also complaining.
Food on patio one afternoon - yuk!
Would return to the hotel - but wouldn't eat there.

“Some good and some bad”

Fisherman's Wharf Inn

Stayed for two nights at Fisherman's Wharf Inn. Arrived around 2:00, valet parking nice touch. Check-in was quick and easy. Room with king bed on third floor, view overlooking the outer harbor. The room was adequate, requested a small frig and it was already in the room at no extra charge.

The furniture was old and worn, the bed was firm (which we like), the pillows were like rocks!!! A/C worked fine. Bathroom small with hairdryer and soap amenities. The deck was semi-private and offered a beautiful view of the outer harbor and town.

Now the bad, we had drinks in the lounge that were definitely watered down alcohol. I ordered a blue martini and I'm sure that the citron vodka was almost pure water.

A full breakfast was included in our room price. The first morning the service was quick although unfriendly. The second morning we arrived at the hostess desk at 9:00AM and never left the restaurant until 10:10AM. That's two people for a small breakfast taking over ONE HOUR!!! My husband had to get up and serve the coffee and water at our table. The other guests followed suit and served themselves too. I don't mind waiting on myself but the service was absolutely the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. The food was average at best.
We heard several people say that if it hadn't been included in the price of their room, they would have gotten up and gone to a different restaurant.
The hostess only seats and cleans tables, she doesn't know how to multi-task and maybe, I don't know, serve some coffee!!!
She gave my husband a dirty look because he got his own coffee, but if she didn't want us to, maybe she should have served it for us!!
We might be tempted to return to the Fisherman's Wharf Inn but ask for a room that doesn't include the price of breakfast. But then again, there's so many other hotels in the area, maybe we'd just try a different one.

Five adult females spent three nights at the Fisherman's Wharf Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and the parking valet toted ALL of our luggage to the room while we ate dinner in the hotel restaurant.

The view from our room was picturesque - overlooked the dock with the schooner that takes tourists sailing. I sat on the balcony early the first morning and watched a mother duckling and her six joung ducklings in the harbor, several sea lions swimming around, and lobstermen going out to collect their catch.

The hotel is convient for walking anywhere. Shopping was fun - plenty of souvenirs, antiques, and galleries. We each had to buy zippered jackets to wear.

Breakfast is included with your room at the hotel. Most of us ordered the quiche of the day for breakfast. We tried to get the cook to prepare a lobster quiche for us, but she said no.

Across the harbor from the hotel is the Lobster Co-op; do plan to eat there once. You place your order and choose your lobster!

If I return to Maine, I want to stay at the Fisherman's Wharf again.
