Kaler's is a very typical Maine lobster and seafood restaurant, with all the usual decor elements. Out back is a touch tank for kids, which keeps them entertained until the food comes. The menu ranges from great clam chowder, lobster combos, sandwiches, fried foods (the fried Maine shrimp are sweet and tasty), steamed clams, and a full menu for kids. Out of all the places in boothbay, this is the best choice for a meal - especially lunch. My only criticism is that the sandwiches, like lobster rolls, come with potato chips; I'd prefer rice, fries or cole slaw, and they should offer that. Overall, a delicious meal on the water.

Just went to Kaler's for dinner. Husband and son had fried clam dinner; daughter and I had a fish fry. Food was very fresh. Good service. Prices were reasonable...$11 for all you can eat fish; $16 for a large, fresh clam dinner. Very family friendly place; laid back and casual; good wait staff. Would go back again.

The hotel I was staying at recommended Kaler's Crab and Lobster House and we had dinner there. The food was good and not too expensive. I will go back next time I am in town.

They have a touch tank on the dock out back where you can see lobster, crabs, fish, etc. One of the owners demonstrated how to put a lobster to sleep which was great fun to watch.

Very good food, above average in all respects for a casual place such as this, and right on the water... Highly recommended
