I took my daughter to Maine for her Spring Break vacation. This was about 2-3 years ago. We flew to Portland, ME and rented a car to drive to Boothbay Harbor. It was March and the weather was a little cool...snow was still on the ground in places. We stayed at the Lion d'Or bed and breakfast inn. The innkeeper's name was Fern Robichaud, but her cooking skills and housekeeping wizardry reminded both my daughter and I of Martha Stewart...frankly, Fern even looked a little like Martha. We stayed there for four nights, and every morning we were served a scrumptious, impeccably prepared full breakfast. Our two-bedroom suite was spacious and well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. I plan on taking my girlfriend to Boothbay Harbor in July, and stay in the same bed and breakfast (though it is now under new ownership).
