The Brick Store Museum is little jewel. From the fascinating Native American exhibits in the first gallery (including an incredible tale of pre-Revolutionary War Bible that survived an Indian attack), to local ship building artifacts (and learn the real story of the Wedding Cake House), to wonderful paintings and unique furniture, to Main Gallery (where the exhibits change quite often so they are never stale) the entire experience is to be enjoyed. The artifacts are clearly and cleverly displayed and very well explained. This place is not stuffy and formal but instead does a great job of making history relevant and interesting. Children will be fascinated by the old school desks and photos and the old volunteer fire company uniforms and bell (which may be rung!).
I've been there many times and always come away grateful that there is such a wonderful institution in one of my favorite Maine places.
