My husband and I decided on a very last minute trip to Maine... we made reservations on a Monday and would stay the night on Friday of the same week! We were traveling with our baby (about 10 months) and being that most people try to have little getaways at B&Bs without their children, Bruce (innkeeper) suggested we stay in the cottage and was so helpful in working with us. A few days before we left, some friends ended up being able to come as well, so I called Bruce to make sure that would be okay and again, he was more than accommodating.
Check in was so easy and prompt; we got a great restaurant recommendation (Mabel's Lobster Claw) and Bruce showed us to the cottage. After we brought our luggage down (a quick walk... unpaved), we left for dinner and it was surprisingly close. There are quite a few restaurants and shops within a 5 minute drive from the Inn.
Everything was so pristine... full kitchen (no dishwasher, though), bathroom, two bedrooms (one queen, two twin beds), a beautiful screened porch and a nice living room heated by a gas fireplace. Just what we needed after a long drive!! We arrived at night, so imagine our surprise when we woke up the next morning to an amazing view overlooking some of the countryside!! The vibrant fall leaves were just exquisite.
Because we were travelling wtih a baby, Bruce had some understandable reservations about us bringing our daughter to breakfast with the rest of the guests. Instead, he arranged for the room service staff to bring it to our cottage! Again, so thoughtful and accommodating.
The breakfast was DELICIOUS. One of the better breakfasts we've had on vacation. They served Grand Marnier French Toast, cranberry / apple streudel with Devonshire cream, and pumpkin-chocolate chip and apple muffins. Everything was wonderful.
Check out was easy as well. I would easily recommend this Inn to any family and friends. You will not be disappointed.
